• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

anyone with a "don't mess with my spyder" system?

apologies and thanks

First let me apologize to anyone I may offended with my "Taser like" comment. I sometimes forget I'm back in civilized society (OIF 04-05 and 07-09) and I tend to use gallows humor to deal with my frustrations. After caring for America's finest and seeing first hand how people treat others I find myself a bit cynical and less tolerant. Sometimes I fall into the Old Testament mode of "an eye for an eye". But I'm working on getting back to how I was before.

I just had the :f_spider: at the dealer for it's 600 mile check up last week. I noticed the brake was firmer when I first got it back and I park on an incline at work and have never had trouble with it rolling before or after the servicing. That's what makes me believe someone was messing with it. I have an SE and it is in gear when I turn it off but it's not the same as a manual being in gear.

Since I can't really get a trunk monkey (darn!) I do like the idea of the lock on the parking brake. How do you attach that?

Again, apologies and thanks for the support and info.

This is a good idea where to buy this lock.

...I do like the idea of the lock on the parking brake. How do you attach that?....

Mine is the Onguard 55x55 mm lock (2.2x2.2 in), but I have seen the identical size lock with several other brands on it. Normaly found in motorcycle accesories stores. Just slide it in after having the parking brake set on three click. The lock does not allow it to go further down to disengage.

Leaving the :spyder2: in gear only works on an manual clutch machine. The SE's or any of the models with the automatic clutch won't hold the vehicle if left in gear - they do have a bit more drag but will still roll quite easily. SpyderDeb's has been holding better/longer since I adjusted the parking brake cam - it's really sensitive in the adjustment.

We were at First Thursday Bike Night at Dulano's Pizza in Minneapolis in Sep. Some jack##s scraped her front fender through the paint. A week later we're going on the interstate to a HOG meeting (see likes to torment the locals with her :spyder2::clap:). The traffic grinds to a halt which we braked for - she's looking in her mirror as some crotch-rocket babe comes REAL close. On Sunday as I was looking over her bike, there was obviously contact by the other front tire with her rear fender. These two incidents were by other scarecrow bikers (think "if I only had a brain....").

I'll let the kids sit on mine if I can help them on/off.
