I have had one for a couple of years. I like it cus it don't get hot or cold. Adds a little more comfort to riding.

I use an Alaska leather sheepskin on my 2022 RT S2S seat. I like it a lot. Heat actually comes thru, although it takes a little longer. Cooler in hot weather. Very nice quality.

Yep, me too. I have a Misty Mountian full seat cover. I saved $$$$$ by buying it secondhand off SL's. Never hot, never cold, and comfortable. The only issue is keeping it clean. Compressed air is the best way to clean it, save taking it off and shaking it out. DON'T use it in the rain! :lecturef_smilie:

I also have the Alaska Leather sheepskin butt pad and love it.
You'll need a large size and if you want one for the passenger it is a pillion 5.

At one time they had a discount code (deadsheep) for an extra 10% discount but I haven't tried it lately. Edit: I also checked and this works also.

I just saw this: Until the end of October, use the code SPOOKY15 for a percentage off your entire order! Happy Halloween!

Yes, love it. Purchased the Misty Mountain Sheepskin through Lamonster Garage. Fits the spyder seat perfectly.
I keep a little brush on the bike and brush it out occasionally to keep it from getting matted down.

Are any of you using the full sheepskin with a backrest that folds forward? My rider always folds the seat forward when getting on (actually it sort of flops forward on its own when I'm not sitting.)

I see pics of the sheepskin on with a backrest, and assume it has to be cut to allow the backrest post through. Is any reinforcement needed of the cut area, especially if the seat post is often moving forward and back?

My wife bought 2 sheep skins off Amazon. She bought sheep skins that had been treated so that they could be hand washed. That way, if you get caught in the rain while riding your Spyder; or if it is parked out when it rains, it won't hurt them.
We both have folding forward back rests on our Spyders, a '19 F3L and a '22 RTL. We just cut a small rectangle out where the backrest bracket goes through the sheep skin to allow folding of the backrest when the wife gets on to ride with me, or when I drive hers and she's folding the backrest when she gets on. Neither sheepskin has had any tearing where we cut out the little piece of skin for the bracket. We didn't reinforce the skin corners of the cut, and we still haven't had any problems. Used one on two wheels for many miles. Now use one on three wheels for many miles. Warmer than vinyl on cold days. Cooler than vinyl on hot days. Win/Win.

It seems like the only downsides are the look (if you don't care for it), and when it rains.

Rain won't really hurt them, unless it's some weird synthetic thing. Actual sheepskins are, well, they used to be on SHEEP. They've been in the rain. :)

They will of course hold a LOT of water and be wet if you sit on them, but they will dry out and can be brushed out and good as new. I've also ridden in some pretty heavy rain and the only part that gets wet are the edges where I'm not sitting on them. Get where I'm going, roll it up in a towel to soak out most of the water, then let it dry in the breeze, and good to go.

We repurposed our original sheepskin from our Wing. Cut it in two for driver and pillion, looks as if it was made for it.
Two pieces so nothing fiddly with the backrest. Get one and enjoy, winter and summer.

Cool DIY, and also Ned64's wife. You didn't have to finish the edges or anything? What did you all use for sewing? Any special thread/needles?

We left the sheep skins whole. Didn't cut them in half and make 2 pieces out of each skin. Just cut the small piece out for the bracket that goes up to the backrest pad. We cut just a bit of the skin to be more of the shape of seat. If we want to take off the skin, we take off the backrest and then the skin is ready to remove. If we stop to stay at a motel, we put half covers on each Spyder. That keeps the heavy dew or rain off the seat. The skin is dry when we take off the cover and we're ready to go.

Stopping someplace to eat, we haven't had anyone try to take the skin. They'd have to tear/cut it in half to the center to remove the sheep skin.

We didn't do any sewing on the skin around the little piece that we cut out, and no sewing around the edges. Haven't had any trouble with them yet.

We do have a big plastic leaf bag inside, just in case, and so we can roll the skin up to the backrest and then put the bag over the skin to keep it from getting wet if it's raining while we stop. The skins stay dry except at the edges while riding in the rain, but it doesn't bother the skins or us sitting on them.
