• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone using one of these?

I think that I'd want some more info on how the bottom of it is padded so as not to scratch the bike's finish...

You could always buy a piece of adhesive clear plastic shield to protect the glove-box lid; or use Plasti-Dip on the lid. Either way, an inexpensive way to protect the paint.

As far as the bag... it sure seems a bit pricy; but then again, it seems hard to find an item like that for any less. I know the brand is good; if that helps.

They are listed on CruiserCustomizing for 40.99 and have a felt backingwere they will not scratch your paint they claim

Mine has come in handy. Especially in cold weather for extra gloves and as iPhone holder.

So you're using one of the bags? Does it appear that the bottom is well protected so as not to scratch the paint on the lid?

Can-Am Spyder RT Premium Double Tank Pouch by Hopnel

The list price on Big Bike Parts site is $44.95 + shipping. I would rather have a map pouch there and have adapted the Hopnel map pouch from my Gold Wing to stick there with Velcro. It works pretty well but the elastic strap system would be better and you wouldn't be sticking Velcro to the plastic. I sent an inquiry to them about the possibility of them doing this and did get a reply that the request would be forwarded to their R&D dept. We'll see what happens.

I am using this product and I am very pleased with the results. The back of the pouch has a synthetic "flannel" that is designed to protect the finish on the glove box. It works well but you must keep the surface of the glovebox clean of dust and dirt or you will get scratches.

Another option for the RS/ST crowd that may work for the RT: the Cortech mini-bag.

I loved mine, past tense-- alas, once I installed risers on my RS I couldn't keep the tankbag, the tankbag interferes with the pulled-back handles. Ultimately, I just ended up getting one of these BRP handlebar bags which solves 90% of my problems (a place to put sunglasses, change, chapstick, etc.): http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?9302-BRP-Handlebar-bag
