• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone using fender brace mounted driving lights?

I made aluminum L brackets that actually mount to the inside of the fender just infront of the metal braces. I have the small round Piaa's mounted on the bracket. The bracket is painted black and is barely noticable unless you look close. I mounted the bracket to the inside of the fender with 3M mounting tape you can buy at Napa or the likes. I have 4000 miles on this set up with no issues at all other than the high failure rate of the bulbs, I run 7000K to simulate the HID headights and they are notorious for short life spans.

Everything comes with the Clearwaters. The mounting bracket is made for the Spyder. You will be surprised at how much light they put out. I used mine as headlights when I lost mine on our way to Tenn. after Spyderfest. They are too bright to leave them on high beam that's why they come with a rheostat to control the brightness on low beam.

Here's my LED driving lights mounted with KewlMetal fender brackets. The lights are Solstice Solo Primes but are not as powerful as the newer lights that Reggy has on Tricled.com. The brackets Reggy is using are very similar and are very solid with no shaking or vibration. You can probably get a set of lights with brackets & dimmer Switch from Tricled for much less than the Clearwaters.

Fender Brace Mounted Lights

Cowtown put a set of Clearwater Glendas on our RT-S before Spyderfest. We are happy with the work and lights.

Yes I bent these up out of aluminum in my garage using basic hand tools and a vise. The part hidden behind the fender follows up the curve to allow for more mounting surface for the auto trim tape. With Painting it took about 1 hour to make both. The vertical section has a slight bend as it leaves the fender area to get it plumb, the bottom angle is a 90.

Clearwater Krista Lights

I had the Clearwater Krista driving lights installed this week. The Kristas' are what I call the big sister to the Glendas' pictured in the earlier post. The Kristas' are scary briight. Each have 3 leds rated at 12 watts each for a total of 36 watts per Krista. Like the Glenda' they can be dimmed anywhere from 15-85% with the RTs low beam and set to run at 100% with the high beams. Currently they are mounted low like the Glendas' in the earlier post but Clearwater is working on an alternative mounting system to place them higher up below the mirrors.

I had my RT out on some twisties along the California coast last night and couldn't believe how bright these puppies were with the high beam and Kristas' running at 100%. I hit a couple of sections with low fog and found one of the benefits of having the Kristas' mounted low was they made great fog lights with the Kristas' set to about 50% with the low beams. Using the RTs stock fog lights made no difference on or off while running the Kristas.

Sorry I don't have any pics..haven't had time to take any.
