• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone use these mirror extensions?

I like how my numbers were 101%.. :-)

Thanks BC, they look cool. any pics of yours with them on to see how they look? Website has some pics, but curious of angle shots as well.

thanks!

They work Great!!

Lots better than looking at my gloves in the mirrors. 4 inch risers put the mirrors right on my handlebars, but now I can see the road again. This a mod that make a lot of sense in the safety aspect.

Another vote for "got 'em, get 'em"!!!

Once they are on they look like they came with the Spyder. The machine work and design is that good. No addition vibration noted, as there was some vibration even with the OEM mirrors.

If you have handlebar extensions these are an absolute must!!

I need them

If so, what's your thoughts?

I have found after ryding this weekend, I do tend to see 76% of my hands and 25% of what's behind me. not sure I like the "up" but the "out" I like...

Was curious if anyone else used these and what you thought.

I'm going to order a set tonight, I had a close call and it was my fault. I did not see the car in my blind spot. Way too much glove and not enough of seeing behind me. :shemademe_smilie:

Okay, do NOT look at the lights as this pic was taken over a year ago when I had an electrical screw-up...however, you can clearly see the up and outs...

Awesome, these are the top of the list then thanks guys!

Oh, anyone have a comment on installation? Pretty easy by self? Wiring any issues?

No, wiring for this isn't too bad...in spite of what you see with my LEDs not working...I had a short involving the mudflap lights, and they are connected to the fender 'tipz' and mirror lights...

I recommend getting the LED lights on the mirror as well...might as well do everything at one time...

ESI has everything you need...and, of course, while you're at it, spend even more money and get the fender tipz and mudflaps (my favorite mod).

Couldn't tell you. My dealer did mine. I do think you will be happy about getting them. They really improve visibility!!

I used the Kewlmetal extentions on both our RSS's they work great with the touring windshield and install in 15min. Best part NO re-wire!!!
Good quality product at a fair price. Kewlmetal is very slow on shipping. What can do? :2thumbs:

Good to know. Thanks Blackspyder!

I *just* put these on my RS today. Great mod, very easy, VERY effective, requires zero skill (don't be intimidated by this one).

A few words of advice/caution:

1. I didn't need an easy-out for the bushings-- just tilt a screwdriver in the bushing and they popped out real easy.

2. I spliced with the Posi-Locks. SUPER EASY, but be sure you give yourself enough wire to make a clean splice. Also, if you're doing other mods requiring you to tap the mirror wires (Fender Tips, I'm looking at you), be aware of where you tap the wires so you leave yourself enough room along the wires.

3. Not specific to the mirror extensions, but I put those, Fender Tips, and *one* Brightside on my RS this weekend.

What happened to the other Brightside, you ask? Well, when you accidentally drop one end of a Posi-Tap down into the open console... it's gone, man. :gaah:

Oh well, Amazon will ship me a new one here in about a week...

(Wish ESI/NMN would include a spare lock and/or tap in their kits-- I came close to losing a *second* one a bit later. For the absolutely insane prices they charge for their admittedly nice kits, one would think they could include a spare fifty cent part).

My wife also has the Up and Outs on her Spyder and loves them.

I like seeing that my hands are still there at times, so haven't gone with any extensions yet. :roflblack:

:2thumbs::2thumbs: ESI's up and outs. I was going to give only 2 thumbs up; but, Evan is a pretty big guy.

If I can offer a suggestion, even though you didn't ask, to eliminate any blind spot, invest a couple of dollars in those small (teenie weenie) mirrors for the corners of the stock mirrors. IMO they work.

I have the up and out extensions with BRP touring windshield, you will have to cut the windshield to use the extensions.

Thanks for the pic kml354 - I was wondering where the windshield might need to be cut, if needed, and your pic has answered my question.

Did you cut it yourself? If so, what tool did you use?

Also, where did you get the extension for the top of the shield? I just installed my shield yesterday and as I was ryding was thinking it would be great if it had an extension. :2thumbs:
