Anyone tried to modify their 2020+ RT OEM Windshield with a GL1800 vent?

Anyone tried to modify their 2020+ RT Windshield with GL1800 vent? I would like to modify my shield to reduce buffeting I get during high speed on my 2022RT. I see that GL1800 OEM vent should fit on the shield but am wondering how much it would help? I'm also assuming that existing cutout vents would need to be somehow plugged in. I am trying to do this on the budget without spending $400+ on an aftermarket shield like F4. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex

Have you seen these? Comes with two sets. One deflects air downward and one deflects air up. I bought a set over winter and have not yet had a chance to try them. They fit nicely.

I remember there was plenty information on this several years ago. I searched the forum and found 2 related posts. The first is a response from F4 Custom windshields, the second from a forum member who installed one.

And this from 2013:
Installed a GoldWing vent on my stock windshield yesterday. I'll try it out today. The install wasn't difficult, but I was apprehensive of making the first cut. I also shortened the windshield by 2".

Yes, @troop, I have seen them and was not impressed. There is a YouTube video showing how ineffective they are, but I guess I can use them to plug the old vents and add the GL1800 adjustable vent for better airflow control. Just wondering if this is more of a Band-Aid than a final solution?

@LongIsland
I would love to hear back about your experience. I have done some major modifications on my shields in the past and have zero hesitations about cutting into mine.

I bought an F4 windshield with the Goldwing vent already installed. The difference is not as great as I was hoping, it seems that once the air is through the vent it runs straight up the inside of the windshield.

@agolder, I didn't install the vent, I was quoting from the posts that I found. You'll have to reach out to
