• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone tried a Seat gel implant?

I have it on my 18 F3L. It's an improvement over stock. I can stay on the bike for more than an hour at a time. I have leg circulation problems so you may be able to go longer.

I just put mine back together last night. I was hoping to try it out today but raining here today and tomorrow so hopefully Sunday. Then I will let you know. I purchased it from Dave as well. It took me about 6 hours to do the job.

I do several endurance events (iron butts) a year and got one of Dave's get inserts when the foam on my RS gave up the ghost on one of these 2 years ago. My seat needed sorting anyway so decided it was worth a go.

The gel isn't really soft or anything, in fact when you first sit on it its about as firm as the normal seat - the difference becomes apparent as you ride.

I had the stock seat on my RS and though I'd never thought it was too bad the gel insert has made a big difference. Previously when riding a long day after a while I would have to stand up on the pegs going through townships etc to give my rear end a rest. That's no longer the case and its still feels ok after a 18+ hours of constant riding.

I was planning to fit mine myself but ended up getting a local vehicle upholsterer to do it (didn't cost much).

Gel seat ….. I'm pretty sure a benefit that isn't spoken about is that GEL is waterproof ( un-like OEM seat foam ) …. so if the seat is in the rain - the seams may leak but that won't transfer to your BUTT :gaah:...……………..Mike :ohyea:

Just a quick heads up....

The Gell I have is custom made for me by the same manufacture that makes
the Medical Gel for my medical repair business, we do repairs in hospitals
doctors offices and dental offices. Hospital beds, Exam tables wheel chairs
and much more. I have them make it for me the size of a touring seat and
sandwich memory foam onto it. It is not like other gel you may see out there
this is much higher quality and will last a life time.

Notice the one on the left has a section cut out of the back, that is because this rider had a broken tail bone
it worked perfectly

I’ve had 7 back surgeries and both hips replaced twice! Dave’s gel seat inserts were a lifesaver for me. I rode 2500 miles to Canada and back in one week 2 years ago and was comfortable the whole time.

 Why would you want gel implants in your seat?

Aren't there much happier places to put that stuff?? :roflblack:

I put one on my RTL last year, like it a lot! It's to bad that they would not put a better seat for the money you spend! I would and will do it again! Good luck
