• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone know where I can get a Blank (Non Transponder Key) for a Base Can-Am Canyon?

Anyone know where I can get a blank key without the transponder for a base Canyon?

I want it to access my panniers or seat to access a Spare Transponder key hidden on the Canyon.

I can get another Canyon transponder key cut, but that's expensive compared to a blank (non transponder key)

The Canyon key is different to previous Can Am keys.

My local key cutting shop has tried a couple of blank keys to cut, but they would only go in about 10mm so didn’t cut any.

Never had a problem with him cutting blank keys on my previous RT’s and F3T.

Thanks.

So it's not the Ilco X270? What year is the Canyon? I wouldn't think it would matter base or not.
You're doing the same thing I did on mine. I carry the regular key in my wallet since it's flatter and have the transponder key stashed and well hidden under a locking area.

Thanks to another Canyon owner, I found the UK website for JMA keys.
Took the information to my local key cutting store, as JMA also list cross references. He found one, tested it in the ignition switch, and it went in.
He then copied it from my Canyon key and it works.
Thanks so much for responding and passing on the information.

Unlike the Ilco X270, with which I am quite familiar, the JMA ZA-9.P1 Plastic Top Key Blank appears to create a new slight of hand. It will fatten your wallet without adding any cash.

In my last association with the IlcoX270, that is frequently reported by average resellers like Ace Hardware and big box home improvement centers as not available, I learned from my local locksmith that such retailers have compendium catalogs of many manufacturers' most popular key blanks but do not have the complete manufacturer catalogs that include less popular blanks. This locksmith always has the Ilco X270 blank in stock. Doing an internet cross-reference search for the JMA ZA-9.P1 shows an Ilco ZD24RDP-S1 might be a start for interested Canyon owners. As with the Ilco X270 fitting Spyder ignitions, there may be some small beveling to fit the Canyon switch.
