• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Anyone know if Slingmods Kicker speakers are worth installing? Any other options?

I have a 2016 Spyder F3 Limited Special Series, and I'm looking to upgrade my factory speakers. I've looked on-line and talked to my local audio stores and the only thing I've been able to find is on Sling Mods and that was factory replacement Kicker speakers. My question is, does anyone know anything about these speakers and are they worth it to install and if not does anyone know of any other options?

I checked at my usual "go to" audio site, Crutchfield.com. They have a "fit my vehicle" search option, but it had nothing specific for replacement speakers on your Spyder F3.

But, using the the Slingmods site I think I found speakers similar to those that are in the kit.
The key parts of the description were that they are Kicker marine speakers that are weatherproof, 4" in size, and 4-ohm.

You need "marine" speakers as those are designed to be exposed to the elements, unlike a speaker design to be used inside a car.

Crutchfield has these Kicker speakers for US $130 per pair.

They only have pictures of the speakers with the grills installed, which you wouldn't use on your Spyder.
I eventually found a picture on another site that shows the speakers without the grills installed.

The Crutchfield site has 32 user reviews for the speakers.

And of course the caveat is I have no experience mounting these in a Spyder, or with the speakers themselves.

I don’t think replacing a 4” speaker with another 4” speaker would be worth the trouble - better, but not a whole lot. You need to move more air to get more sound.

SSV offer an F3 system with Kicker 6.5" or SSV 6.5" that are easy to mount. That may be what you are referring to also, not a 4” replacement.

I don’t have any experience with SSV Speakers, but Kicker has been making good speakers for a long time and I think they're worth the extra $. I prefer JL Audio. Speaker pods are available separately, so you don’t necessarily have to buy the whole system.

If he doesn't come on here, pm Blueknight911 and ask him what he did for speakers for his 2014. It the same audio system as your 2016.

I'm still not completely sure of what I can say here. But we carry these and if you PM me, I can give you a good deal on them.

These speakers will sound a very little bit better. They will sound very much better with an updated amplifier. Same as any audio system.

I currently wear a full face helmet and have never owned a motorcycle with audio. However on my '24 F3L with 6 speakers I was underwhelmed and I am surprised there isn't a lot more experience online with different audio iterations addressing it.
