• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has anyone installed the rear trunk on a standard 20/21 RT.
Cost?
Got a 18 RT missing some bells and whistle.
But it's worth the savings.

Not sure what you've got but ALL PRE-2020 RTs have a built in rear trunk. It's part of the body work and can't be removed. If you're referring to the F3T, you can add a trunk. If you're referring to the 2020+ RT base, the only thing difficult about adding the factory trunk is paying over $2,000 for it. There are a few of us who have added aftermarket trunks to our 2020+ base model RTs for far less money.

If you truely feel you have a 2018 RT withOUT a trunk, I'd like to see a pic of it.

As I understand the 20/21 base RT does not have a rear storage compartment only sides
Yes 19 19 base has rear compartments

You might save a couple thousand dollars, but I'd suggest you just buy the Limited model and be done with it.
You can buy the standard model and add an aftermarket trunk, but it will never be the same, and won't have the OEM features, like color matched panels, power ports on the inside, an internal light, sound speakers and integrated brake light.
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Yup, you are wrong. The rear trunk comes with speakers, light, etc. the color matched panels are extra, but cheaper than a body shop can do them for. We did exactly what the OP is contemplating: bought a standard model 2020 RT. Bought the top box, got the painted to match panels, looks exactly like a RTL, but saved thousands of dollars. We (Ann) did not need heat for the back seat or handholds, the air compressor, or the DRL’s.

You may also want to consider that the base RT does not come with the automatic self leveling air pump for the rear end.

The base model doesn't have it which means that you have to fill it up to the appropriate air pressure given your body weight and any passenger/luggage.

This is not a big deal if the air bag holds the air pressure but my air bag leaks about 1-2 psi per day which means that I have to add air every few days. After sitting for a couple of weeks, it is completely out of air. Not sure if they all leak or if mine is within the acceptable tolerance. I haven't taken it to the dealer as it is one of those things not worth hassling over so I am waiting for some other issue to happen so I can get them all repaired at the same time.

I bought one for my 2021 RT base model last August (2020). It cost me $1,500 and change after their discount. It's more expensive now though. But to buy the RTL would have cost me a little over $4,000 more for heated seats and the top case. Not sure what other bells and whistles you get but those were the ones emphasized by the dealer. I just had wrapmyspyder.com make me decals to go on the sides of the top case since it's all black. I'll post a pic of it when I get them installed. You'll probably also find it on their website at some point because they want me to send them the pic as well.
