• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone have this issue?

Went for a ride yesterday, beautiful day, 60° sunny, blue skies... I thought I would try out my new jacket, Hi-Viz Yellow 3/4 length.
Well, when the sun was shining on the jacket it was extremely difficult to see the dash board, the digital speedometer was about the only thing I could make out.
Anyone have this problem???? :dontknow::dontknow:

Not even with my safety reflective vest. Guess i relax far enough back?

Nor I with either of my Hi Viz jackets but I have a Comfort Seat so I'm back a couple more inches than you might be.

Thanks for the input. I have stock seat and bars. Maybe a riser? Of course I am blessed with short arms, not much I can do there. Maybe I can arrange the safety card as a shade!:joke:

Do you have the reflective coating on your glasses?
Both my regular and sun glasses have this.
it prevent glare from head light at night.
Might help

I have had a similar problem with my reflective coat. The glare made my Garmin GPS hard to see on a sunny day. I mounted a shade over the gps and it made a huge difference

Pic of you gps shade please & was it DIY or did you find it? Link also please:thumbup:

Thanks

My sun glasses are polarized and there is a UV coating on my regular glasses. I had sunglasses on when I had the problem. My helmet has a drop down sun shade, I do not use it when I have sun glasses on, makes it too dark. I will try the sun shade next time.

Yes I've had similar problems with a bright red jacket. Switched to a black Leather one and every thing was good.

Similar thing happened to me

I stopped at a local car dealership one afternoon after an hour of riding. Spent about 45 minutes there and after starting bike to leave I could not see the center LCD dash. Completely blacked out. Weather was 80 plus that day and very sunny but figured something was wrong with the bike and not a reflection issue. Drove home less than a mile to call dealer to make an appt. and by the time I got home it was back to normal. Hasn't happened since. Same Spyder, 2013 ST-S Circuit Yellow SE5

A hot (sun reflecting on the dash) will cause the screen to black out. A known issue. The reflection from brightly colored safety gear is a new one on me. Let us know what works for you when you get experimenting.

I have the same problem with my yellow jacket. The screen is one of the worst displays i have ever seen. Too much info on a small space. The sun really makes it hard to see and a reflection makes it impossible. Do they use the same display on their water crafts?
