There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. (Never Mind!) Anyone have a spare Honda GL Gasket they can ship me overnight??

Never mind-- I've just been informed that the gasket that goes on the exhaust pipe is a different size than the Y-gaskets... good thing I found that out!

The good news then is I'll call my local dealer and hopefully they have a replacement gasket in stock.

---------
Dummy me took apart my stock exhaust tonight to install a new pipe without realizing that duh, the gasket ain't exactly reusable :banghead:.

Looking around online, prices for shipping fast are horrendous, and even then, "fast" means nearly a week.

Anyone have a single spare Honda gasket on hand they can ship me, preferably overnight? Mail tomorrow to get Friday so I don't lose the weekend (Spyder's my only transportation)? PM me, name a price, I'll reimburse by PayPal or check, however you want it...

THANKS!

I sent dave a PM in case he didn't read this...But just a thought...I might try wrapping the male end with exhaust pipe heat wrap tape , the kind you use as insulation ( because it doesn't burn/melt ) and slip it into the female end and put on the clamp...I think it would work for long enough to get a real gasket.....any thoughts Spyderlover's.....worth a try....Mike...

Thanks all for the advice. Now that I know it's a different gasket, I'm not worried about getting a stock one from my local dealer. Besides, I should have realized that at first-- it's nice to have the Goldwing gaskets in the Y gaskets, but no need for one at the exhaust pipe location, I'm fine using a stock BRP one there.

When you say 'install new pipe' ... do you mean a different exhaust than the original... or another original exhaust??

Slip on pipes like the 2 bros or HMF do not use a gasket when installing.... that is unique to the BRP original exhaust only.

Okay, now I demonstrate my complete ignorance... I was keeping it a surprise, but I sprung for a Yoshi R-77. It's a slip-on, which I guess means I *don't* need a gasket then?

Will I need to use RTV at all at the joint?

Like Firefly said.......... No gasket needed on HMF and 2 Bro's so I'm assuming you won't need one with the Yoshi. Now, put that pipe on and run it. It's still early yet, so twist the throttle and your neighbors will know you got a new pipe. !!!!!!!! :doorag:

Don't need the gasket then... actually won't work. Shouldn't need to RTV it either. Just clamp it on and go....

Thanks guys... I have no idea what I'd do without this place. Screw up more often, most likely! :D

I just wish I had the info last night-- had to schlep into work on the bus this morning with the rest of the herd. Back to riding tonight!
