• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone going to Spyders in the Adirondacks 2012 Aug 9 -12 ?

We are getting excited for our week long trip to the adirondacks ! Jake and I are heading up August 5th thru the 12th. Jake is driving the spyder from nh and I'm stuck in the car with all our stuff and the furkids but I'm not a fan of highway driving on the spyder so maybe that isnt so bad. Can't wait to go to the adirondack popcorn store in lake placid :)

We will be there

Theresa (the spyder rider) and myself (a Harley rider) will be there. We are leaving VA on Sat and taking a few days to see some sites arriving at Lake Placid on Thursday. We will be leaving Saturday after the group photo and heading to Watkins Glen to catch the NASCAR race. Not sure where we will be riding that following week as we will have one more week of vacation.

Looking forward to SITA and getting to put faces to avatars.

Doug

Just got an e-mail about S.I.T.A -- Contents Below:

Most of the time, peer pressure is a bad thing involving questionable behavior with a high probability of a bad ending....

Well, this newsletter is filled with peer pressure....but of a different kind. We want you to sign up for Spyders In The Adirondacks because more than 100 (pushing 200 with passengers) of your fellow SpyderTalkers have done so already.... and the only thing questionable about this event is how you'll ever get any sleep with the anticipation of opening day... and the only bad thing about it is that it will end far too soon. But, we can pretty much guarantee that the regret of not attending will be far worse!
So, if you have not yet registered, there are 2 days left. Head on over to SpydersInTheAdirondacks.com and sign up for Spyders In The Adirondacks 2012.

Lots of people have been asking for the details of this year's event. Here's a quick list of what to expect, but we'll send more details in the next couple weeks.
Thursday - August 9th is our opening day meet and greet at the Tail O' The Pup BBQ starting at 1:00 PM. This is where you will pick up your registration package, check out the vendor trailers, grab a bite to eat if you want, and listen to some great live music.
Friday - August 10th we will meet up for breakfast and head out on the Poker Run planned by some fellow SpyderTalkers, or take a ride up Whiteface Mountain, or do both. BRP will be paying the toll up Whiteface Mountain for the first 25 that sign up at the Tail O' The Pup on Thursday. During the day, Roberts Sports Center will be offering food at their dealerships along with Spyder service for those needing some routine maintenance on their Spyders. Friday night, we will plan to meet back up at a local restaurant to share stories from the day's events.
Saturday - August 11th will be our closing day at the Olympic Skating Oval in Lake Placid. We'll start the day off with our Spyder Cruise-In, you can play your poker hand from Friday's Poker Run, and our vendors will once again be there. We'll have a group picture at 12:30 PM, eat around 1:00 PM, and wrap up the event with a fun awards ceremony.

We can't wait for the 9th to get here and hope you can't either!

...and if you have not yet signed up...you have two days to visit SpydersInTheAdirondacks.com and register.

THe B&B I stayed at last year is no longer a B&B which is a shame as that one was very nice.

Found another one, bit more expensive...Finding lodging was a chore this year... I really wish they would move this rally to off peak season, but no biggy.

I would think lake placid peak season would be during iron man and during the winter months for skiing etc.. We rented a house on off season rates in jay ny for the rally. Maybe I'm wrong though on peak seasons for the area.

I hope it's going to be a good event too ! Last year they did a good job at getting everything together I'm hoping that we see the same thing happen here over the next few weeks. This is the closest rally to us so we're hoping that it becomes successful.

Coming from Northern Illinois

Have a great route through Canada to SITA. Really looking forward to great riding, great friends and great weather.

Anyone else coming from central mid-west? Maybe meet up on the ryde out?

Will be attending for the second time:yes:
JOE!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you man, I'm sure this time I will have more time to spend hanging out, but I do have a van load of elkas to install, including the new.......ahhhh have to save it for a new thread see you all there.

Your telling me !!!!!!!! Biting my tounge now so not to offend anyone...........

I was disappointed at how long they took to finally invite vendors or take me up on my offer to help invite them. I had to volunteer to do that for them numerous times before they took me up on my offer. I understand how difficult it is to put big events together but they have a huge community that they could reach out to for help if they really wanted to. This is the closest rally to us so we would like to see it be success and get bigger and better every year.
