There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Ok.... I have a confession to make..... last September when I put my deposit down I hadn't even seen a Spyder in person, never sat on one..... nothing.....

Now that I've been waiting (in)patiently for 7 1/2 months..... I STILL haven't seen a Spyder in person........ I've been offered the demo ride thing from the dealer.... and my jacket has been sitting there waiting for months...... on October 8th I was going to go but got tied up.... now I don't want to because it'll almost be an adventure to go there after all this time and finally see it......... and it'll be the one I'm bringing home.

The dealer is over 2 hours from my house..... and nobody around here has one..... I've never seen one on the road and everyone who I mention it to doesn't know what I'm talking about.......... Kind of exciting if you ask me!

Anyone else do this kind of thing too?!?

I rode one whena guy in Brick was selling it on Ebay. Great ride and I decided to get one on the spot. Unfortunately, it was an SM and I want the SE.

Sounds Like an $18,000 mail order bride!!!!

;DMad Matt!

I too have never seen a Spyder in person. Used to ride a harley Road King. Sold It. was thinking about a Goldwing or Sport Touring bike. One of my customers from Canada told me about the Spyder. I started reading about them and became very interested. A local Yamaha dealer took on Can-Am in Dec. I went in a ordered mine in January. Hope to get it by the end of May. When my dealer rode one in Tampa, he called me and said that "when you get off of it for the first time, you will be grinning from ear to ear like a kid with a new bicycle". I just have a gut feeling that this is the bike I have been looking for. This forum has been extremely informative and helpfull. Plus, it gives us Spyderless people something to think about while we are waiting. I am making my list of accessories , gear and mods. Counting the days in Spring Hill Kansas.

Matusky, teacherbob---

You guys are amazing!

I drove an hour to a snowmobile show over a year ago after reading an article about them, sat on the Spyder (it was inside a hotel), came home and put the deposit...
People said that I was putting a lot of faith in BRP,
but you folks r e a l l y trust them!

Trust.............. such a funny word, isn't it?! ;D

Seriously though, I'm really excited about the prospect of getting that call in the next couple weeks..... I'm a real procrastinator when I know I can be....... I put the deposit down right away.... because I knew I had to, or I'd never get one......

I never thought I'd have to wait this long....... I always had this false hope that they'd see how popular they had become and production would be ramped up and I'd get mine earlier than expected........ I also never thought they'd oversell the 2500# by like..... 800+ units! but now it's late, I'm still waiting and I only hope that any unknown kinks have been worked out on the assembly line now that it's been so long and some of them have been on the road a while........

Faith, I do have........ trust though? Jury is out to lunch right now, at least till I get 100 miles on it ;-)

I also put down a deposit without ever seeing one. Went to a dealership in a nearby city that I found on the BRP website. They did not have one, but they did have some literature that I handn't seen. This was last May. The only thing I knew about them was from a couple of articles and pictures in motorcycle magazines. My wife and I have been travelling by motorcycle for decades, but her hip had started making it difficult for her to get on and off the bike. I thought the Spyder might be the answer. This dealership only had one left of their allocation and I was unwilling to put money down on something I knew so little about, even though I wanted to. The dealer asked where I lived. When I told them, they informed me their was a Can Am dealership in my home town so I should put a deposit down there. When we went back out to the car, my wife says I think we should get one. ;D ;D ;D It is so unique that if we don't like it I think we can always sell it. Yet another reason I married this woman.   Placed the deposit at my hometown dealer the next business day. 10 months later we were the proud owners of Silver #1232. :hot: :hot: :hot: Thanks to 2008 delivery, sheer dumb luck and a good dealer (Pensacola Motorsports in FL) we have had almost none of the problems others have reported with their Spyders. Enjoy and Ryde Safe to all. :2cool:

yep...that is what i did. never saw one until i flew to pensacola and picked mine up. great ride home back to tx.

Same here, I never saw one in person, only online. But as soon as I saw it and found out it was street legal I knew I wanted one. Put my deposit down in May, 2007. Now proud owner of #1390,Yellow. All I can say is I am NOT disapointed, it's a blast to ride and extremely relaxing!!

Yep. I am "guilty" of that also. I never seen one before putting my $1,000 deposit down. The bad thing is that there were NO DEALERS IN ILLINOIS at the time I ordered my Spyder, so I had to order one from a dealer in Benton Harbor, Michigan (about 2 or so hours away). Now I just found out that a dealer opened in Wilmington, Illinois, about 15 minutes away from me! This really makes me mad. But at least I'll have someone close to service my Spyder!

I did the same thing, had to buy out of state, now Reno has a dealer. But my local dealer quoted November delivery times, doesn't have anything for service, doesn't even know what the 1st service entails. I'll make the 150 mile trip back to CA for my first service very soon now. They were good folks and I am so glad to have my bike now instead of the end of next riding season!

Yes, I'm a "hopefully" sight unseen depositor as well. My wife and I have been encouraged by our brothers and sisters - in-laws to ride with them. We are the old gang and they found us a trike, but still I was hesitant. Then saw an internet article about this roadster and when they said an automatic... I said yipee !!!

We live in Missouri, and of course we had a choice... Wisconsin or Colorado. Both closest dealers were 600+ miles away... So after the first of the year we got serious, and approached a dealer. Choose Colorado because we can bum a night at our daughter's if we have to get service.

Sent our $1000.00 and met the 29th Feb 2008 deadline and resolved to wait till November for delivery. Never saw the bike except on-line. But my wife visited our daughter in early March and took a drive over to see a bike at the dealer.... Got pictures.

We're so glad that the delivery date is being moved up to NLT Sept 30th. With any luck it will be even faster. Heard that one dealership in MA has gotten all their orders through May 2008 just this week. Hopefully, all delivery dates will start to move even earlier. Would love to ride before weather gets cold again.

P.S. the new dealerships posted this week show 2 dealers in Kansas City, and guess what we live there! So that will be a relief.

Captainryder,
Teacherbob here. I ordered my Spyder from Reno's Yamaha in Martin City. Would recommend them for accessories and service. They are a new Can-Am daler but, have been in the motorcycle business for a long time. Steve, the owner, is a great guy. Tell them that Bob at PowerSports4Less sent you. By the way, if you need riding gear check out my website PowerSports4Less.com. I am offering all Spyder riders a 5% discount.

I put my deposit of $1000 down in March, 2007 without ever seeing a Spyder. My wife saw a picture in a business magazine about a new 3 wheeler that was being inrtroduced by BRP. I went down to my dealer the next day and put down the deposit. Got the unit in mid-December and have really enjoyed it tremendously!.
