Anyone else got a Whining Smooth Spyder tensioner? Any fixes?

I have one of the early Smooth Spyder belt tensioners, the type that had to have the frame drilled. It's worked well, but there is a constant whine coming from it. If I disconnect the roller from the belt, the whine goes away. Has anyone else had this issue, and if so, we're you able to fix it?

Is your belt ribbed on the outside? If so: that might be causing it... :dontknow:

Thanks Bob. Yes it is. Great minds think alike, that was my original thought. Is there a belt with a smooth back available?

I know that my 2014 doesn't have any ribs on the outside...
But since it's a 1330, and you've got a 998: you might want to double-check to make sure that it would work.

My RS has the same set up and though I do not hear it many say it sounds like I have a turbo...:yes:sometimes runs like it...:roflblack:
