• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I do, during the day only. It's a carry over habit from two wheeled motorcycles. They really DON'T see you.. even on a Spyder.

Let's see..!!

all bikes have lights on constantly. As a matter of fact you can't turn them off. During the day running hi beams make little difference. Running hi beams and driving/fog light just loads the system. I run driving/fogs when needed and hi beam in low lit areas with no oncoming traffic...!!

Unless one has extra farkles and lights, I wonder if using hi beams really puts an excessive load on the charging system.
It does not on the Spyder. There is no extra filiment, so the lighting load is the same. It is actuaally a bit higher on low beams, as the shutters are held in position electrically.

The light doesn't change from low to high, just has a shutter that blocks off the upper portion of the light... no change in power consumption.

I use the high beams in the daytime since it does not affect the power use at all. I only use the fog lights in the day time when I am in traffic or on the high way. At night use low beams so not to blind oncoming cars but I always use the fogs to be seen better. If you are running over 4,000 rpm, as you should be, and you have a healthy charging system all should be well.

I kind of, "split the difference" up here. VERY low traffic density patterns make it somewhat unnecessary. I'll switch to high beams when I'm in traffic...
