• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sometimes my elect shift lever does not respond to a shift. It acts like it is not making contact. Have any of you had this problem?

The only time I've had that issue is when my oil was a little low. That would be the first place to check.

The SE5 can do this if the RPM is too low to shift. I have had it try to shift but fail like it can't sync the gears.

the oil has everthing :chat:to do with shifting, oil is what makes it shift if your even a little low it will not act right.

Most reports of that have been due to low oil, or to trying to shift at too low an rpm. There have been a few reports of bad switches and a very few problems with the hydraulic shift mechanism. Check your oil and be sure you shift at a point high enough to remain above 3,500 rpm in the higher gear (usually about 4,500 or higher). If the problem persists, see your dealer.

It does not shift out of reverse to Netural, and sometimes it will not go into first gear. Acts like no contact on switch lever, no matter how hard I push on the lever. Also just had the 600 mile check-up and a oil change at the dealer.

Check your oil anyway. nojoke

I will check the oil level, also will talk to the dealer. Still under warranty. Thanks for the answers !!!!!!!!!

My RS won't shift into reverse sometimes, I'm convinced that the cable connecting the SE5 shift box to the bike is not completely connected. Because whenever it doesn't shift, all I have to do is jiggle/"push in" the cable at the base of the shift box and voila, reverse works.

I'm certain I damaged the cable at some point way back when I installed my risers (and didn't have enough slack in the cable when going full lock-to-lock on the handlebars). Trouble is, it happens so rarely that I never was able to get the dealer to replicate it. Since it only happens every once in a while AND I can work around it with a jiggle of the cable, I haven't bothered to get it replaced. Some day, maybe...

Anyway... check your cable at the shift box, it could be loose.
