• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Shifting Issues Out There?

Picked up my 08 se5 april 9, 09. My first three times out for a ride each time it left me on the side of the road, shifter switch not responding to change gears, reving up and down by itself stalling out luckily the flatbed had a winch to load the spyder. First time i picked it up the tcm was changed and i was told that all updates- tsb's were done.I got 25 miles on the first ride. Second time i picked it up the throttle-body was changed because the blipper valve was not working. I got a little over 40 miles that ride. The third time i picked it up the whole clutch and roller assembly was changed along with shift selonoid, angle sensor. The third ride was about another 40 mile ride. My fourth ride out was a success, 120 miles and made it home without calling the flatbed. Fifth ride i got 95 miles and it happened again. 4 times and 40+days at the dealer for the same problems, been on the phone with brp and the response is the dealer and can-am techs are working on it. Just wondering if anyone else has had same problems? Up to about 460 miles. 320 miles are mine and the rest is test drives when problems were fixed at the dealers.

changing gears

i have 08 SE5 i received in Oct. 3 times mine did this. but after sitting 3-4 min. it cleared up each time. i told my tech,he checked w/ can am ,then added a heavier gauge ground wire to mine to prevent heating.also told to down shift at slow speeds manually. this seems to solved my problem. PS;;;LAMONTE your wiseness is wonderful. thanks

welcome

I picked up my 09 SE5 in March nd ever had such problems (knock on wood). I have read about a few people with similar problems. My only advice is to lean on your dealer. If nothing happens after being reasonably patient, then I would go the lemon law route.

I have a 08 SE5 that was manufactured in July of that year and which I purchased in August. There have been some issues with the SE5 but most of the issues have a resolution. I too have had the clutch rollers replaced, the Gear position sensor replaced and I have added the grounding wire from the oil cooler to the ignition coil to the grounding lug. I have been fortunate enough that these fixes have allowed me to ride problem free for the last 7000 km.

I would check to make sure that all of these known and BRP acknowledged fixes have been done to your bike.
