• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any rumors about 2013

I am looking at adding a second spyder to the stable and am anxiously awaiting news about any changes to next years models. In the perfect world what would you like to see? Here is my list:

1. Turbo charged RSS high performance model with tuned front/rear suspension.
2. RS set up with some of the amenities of the RT, in particular cruise control, upgraded color dash similar to the RT and electric parking brake like an RT. All minor changes, but I think these would be nice to have on a RS.
3. A 6 speed with upgraded motor with more HP
4. An entry level smaller hp spyder, maybe the hybrid will fill this hole (if you can call this a hole)

The dealers might start getting information on the 2013s in about 3 Months or so... You'd need to comb the 'net for any rumors of what's to come...

How about this (From a Paint Manufacturer Website)!

2013 Models

Can-Am Spyder ST in Vegas White

Can-Am Spyder STS Pure Magnesium Metallic and Circuit Yellow Metallic

I would say the odds of big changes are good.

I just purchased a 2011 RT A & C so that should help all of you who are wanting bigger and better. The new purchase puts me out of the market for 2013--so the changes I have been awaiting for trading in my 2010 are now moot. I am out of the market for at least a year--until I pay off the new 2011.

I'm debating about waiting for next year or get one sooner. With all the throttle body problems I'm not sure I want a '12 or not. My hart is set on a red RTS and I have the money now (which I did not think I would have until next year) to buy it. If I wait 3 months to find out what is coming out next year I might as well wait until next year. You all know how it feels to have your eye on a new Spyder, having the money, not sure if an issue is truly fixed, and have to decide to bit the bullet and buy or wait another year and hope the issue is fixed and no new one creaps up. :dontknow:

So... for #2... you basically want an RT? They make those already. LOL

Seriously... The RS is a Sport tourer... BRP is not going to add features from the RT - because it defeats the purpose of them offering an RT... The RS will continue to the the cheaper no frills model.

I think odds are that for 2013... and more likely 2014... on the RS...

1. Bigger motor with taller gearing and sprockets... maintain quickness while giving back some MPG.

#1 is really all we can potentially count on.

My realistic wish list....

2. selectable Nanny... Normal, Rain, and Sport modes

Basically that.. bigger motor - maybe with some taller gearing, and selectable nanny... and they just sold me a new RS.

I really like the idea of selectable nanny, like they have on some sport bikes. I understand the "no frills" idea, but come on, the bike costs nearly 20K delivered, adding cruise will NOT make it an RT by any stretch. The RS sales have lagged, I think it needs a major upgrade, adding some basic functions will get them out the door, just my humble opinion.

I don't know... for $17k there are a lot of two wheelers that are no frills as well... and for $17k you can't show me another trike at that amount of coin... So BRP is truly in the driver's seat on the design.... So I remain realistic is expecting a facelift, motor, and hopefully something else compelling.

There have been a lot of people who like the price point of the RS, but can't afford the RT. They demand that BRP put a radio, comm system or cruise on the RS... or nicer seat, wind shield, etc... and you still end up with an RS that is higher cost and closer to an RT anyway.... Keep it sporty, we'll mod it. :D

The selectable nanny would be simple for all of us if they offered an inexpensive BUDS software to owners in a user friendly version.
