• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any reviews/opinions on Ultimate Seats w/ backrest for RT

I bought my Ultimate seat at Spyderfest last year and have been very happy with it. I live in Chicago area and went to SITA, Did 2400 miles in 7 days on that seat one month after install, My longest dau has been 700 miles and it was very comfortable.

As for the fuel door - - - I love it. I went with the flat black instead of the chrome and have not hsd any problems with it getting to hot.

I would also recommend the Ultimate seat and back rest. I have both the rider and passenger back rest. We had 1 issue going 650 miles the day after we installed it. My wife said it took almost 500 miles to break it in.

Picked up my Ultimate seat a couple of days ago. Had custom color inserts and spyder logos put on the seat and what a great job they did. Rode home 300 mile that day and have put on another 200 since and am more then satisfied with the seat. Would definately recommend!!

Corbin

The Corbin seat is built a lot like a shallow or low cantle. Western saddle. My butt likes to squirm and wiggle around after twenty minutes and it don't make, any difference if It is a short or long trip!

I heard that the vendors at last yr sf let people try the seats out on their bikes before purchasing. True? I sure hope so! It is hard to purchase a seat you have never been on before! Anyone with word on whether corbin or ultimate or any other custom seat vendor is going to be at sf this year?

I bought my Ultimate Seat based on the satisfaction of fellow SpyderLovers. Made a wonderfully positive difference. My husband, who rides pillion with me, has said it was the best accessory I could have gotten for the Spyder. Being "mature" riders, we are grateful for anything that reduces our aches and pains! IMHO you won't go wrong buying the Ultimate Seat. It really does add enjoyment to an already fun ride.

Thanks for the affirmation!:D We did buy two seats with backrests during the 20% off sale. You didn’t think I was going to be stoic while she got a new seat did you! ;) They should be here any day now and then guess who installs them? That should be interesting.

Ultimate seat fuel door?

I just recently added the ultimate seat with the fuel door. Now over all I love the seat ! However the fuel door seems to "stick out" at the top and it rubs my leg which is uncool. Anyway I asked the installer if this could be adj and he said no. So my question is . is this true or did he just not want to mess with it ? It really can get uncomfortable.

Have you contacted sillier directly ? My gas door is flush ! I heard they normally work with customers , and I thought there was a 30 day return policy.

I have the tall boy and back rest , took a 5000 mile ride , butt was happy !!!! Love it !!

seat

had backside issues with stock seat after about 40 minutes -- got the Ultimate tall boy -- road 3hrs with no problem -- have fuel door -- no issues with heat -- later got the back rest -- that gives alot of support -- esp in wind conditions-- gives you something stationary to support yourself

got a tall boy at Spyderfest with the backrest and I am totally happy. the wife said the backrest does block some wind on her but i just lean up every now and then and that solves the problem. might suggest adding the revco armrest as well.

I just installed my Ultimate seat (pics to come) and went on a 500 km ride today and I'm a believer!
I did the same ride 3 weeks ago on my stock seat on my 2014 RT-L and my butt & hips were killing me.
This was the first ride on the seat and it was great! Once it's broken in a bit I expect it to be even better!
Worth every penny!

2015 Can Am Spyder RT seat comparisons

My dad and I are getting Spyders in July, and we have been comparing everything we can. They will be used for long rides, and he is in a toss up between the new F3 and RT. My mother will more than likely feel more comfortable on the RT, but my dad prefers the cruise style of the F3. I see that there is a Comfort Seat that is pushed about 2" back for more leg room. He is a truck driver and likes comfort. Has anyone tried or own this seat? I cannot find any reviews; however, it seems that most of you have the better seats Can-Am offers for the older RTs and like them. Any advice will help. I am getting the RS, and may trade it in later for the upgraded version later with the 1330.

I installed the BRP comfort seat and BRP backrest. I had the stock seat and Ultimate backrest on my 2011 RTS. The comfort seat is more comfortable that the stock seat, BUT the backrest is not comfortable. It is not adjustable as the Ultimate is. I adjusted it once in a while on longer trips but can not do that now as it is fixed in place. I know I can shim it and screw around with it, but it is a pain that I don't want. I paid $400+ for the BRP backrest and hate to spend more getting an Ultimate, but probably will. Don't buy the BRP backrest.....JMHO. Did anyone install an Ultimate backrest on their 2014/15 Spyder, if so, your thoughts please.

I have the Ultimate Tall-Boy with the fuel door. I've never felt heat from the fuel door nor noticed it rubbing against my thighs. I don't wear shorts when I ride, and if you do I think you might have problems bigger than heat or rubbing.
