• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any problem transporting a Spyder RT (2015) on Flatbed without wheel chocks.

Thinking about taking the Spyder on a little trip behind the RV. I have a flatbed "car hauler" trailer and straps. Any issues in doing it without wheel chocks?
I'm planning on using two straps on the front, one on each of the lower shock mounts going forward (has Lamonster tie down rings, like attached picture).
Plus, two straps around the back tire going both directions rearward. This is how I've transported cars and assume this will be ok for the Spyder.
Just thought I would check with all the experience in this group. Thanks.

(y) Sounds good, double & triple check straps at stops along the way. ;) Please do not put any cover on it - wind flutter will scuff the paint! 😖
 
Use your straps pull it from both directions, and what I would do is take a couple 2x4 and screw them down to your wooden deck in the front with some screws so you can just take them off when you're not hauling it anymore. Have done that on my trailers a lot when I got things I don't want to work forward while hauling!

NoFlyzone, I use the front shock Eyebolts from TricLED that are powder coated black, then cross the front tie downs to prevent the front from shifting side to side (then I don't need the extra blocking). I then loop the tie-down ratchet strap around the rear rim to the rear trailer corner. Spyder doesn't move at all.

A bunch of years ago, I was trailering my 2 wheeler and stopped for lunch. Came out to get back on the road again and some SOB had stolen my ratchet strap tie downs. There my bike was sitting on the trailer on its kickstand with no tie downs. What the hell? My wife (girlfriend at the time) stayed with the bike and trailer while I went and bought some new tie downs. I wish there was a way to lock tie down straps. Maybe a long shanked lock. But now I carry extra ratchet straps and park where I can easily see my rig. Not too worried about the Spyder anymore, but I occasionally trailer my Polaris. Those 2" ratchet strap tie downs are expensive. Good lesson here. Don't jump in your rig and take off without first checking your load.
 
My brother enclosed trailered 2 jet ski's to Florida. Everything locked down tight. At a good, well lit hotel parking lot. Woke up early the next morning and no trailer. They never found it. Not even sure anyone looked for it.
 
All you can do is insure your stuff and hope it doesn't happen to you! You can lock stuff up to the gills; if they want it, they will take it!! It's too bad people buy stolen stuff, if there wasn't a market then they wouldn't be out there stealing stuff. Locks cut easy with a cut off wheel; hell, I tack weld all my trailer hitch coupler nuts for the one time that someone may want to leave my lock on, twist the latch apart, and reassemble it on their truck - if they do, they will end up with a broken latch to deal with! You can't stop them, but by the same token, you can't stop living your life in fear of them SOB's either!
 
IMO you should be ok with just straps. I used both straps and chocks in my enclosed trailer. Just a bit of extra peace of mind.

Chocks are inexpensive and easy.
