Kewl Problems

I ordered the same thing about 6 wks ago through my dealer. After 2 wks of hearing nothing, my dealer called them and they said on back order but would have them in 1 week. After hearing nothing afte 1 wk, called again and said I was at top of list when they did come in, ship out in a couple fo days. After another wk, called and they said sorry, still on back order. Had my dealership cancel the order. After all of that I was afraid of the quality of the product and any subsequent problems that might arise. Very poor follow up and heard a different story when we did talk to them.

Same problems as other posters here. Part was continually on back order & then they did not apply a discount like they were supposed to. It took numerous emails & weeks before the credit ever appeared & that was after being told the credit had been applied on a couple different occasions.

Their products are excellent but ordering time has always been long. I'm fairly certain they don't keep much stock on hand and actually have some parts made or ordered after a customer order has been placed.

Expect and plan for long ordering times but you'll be very happy with their products when they do arrive.

I have been scarred off on buying from this supplier.

Here is an opportunity to fix a reputation that does not seem great as far as customer service goes.

Communication with customers is paramount to good customer satisfaction.

I also ordered the foot pegs kit for my RT, and was told for 2 wks running that they were all on back order. Finally yesterday I called them (and got through). I was told that the parts for all of the back orders had arrived and were being put together and would be shipped out this week. I guess the sqeaking wheel does get the grease, because I shortly thereafter got a fedex notice that product was being shipped. Checked today and it is on the truck to be delivered to a Ride Now that I had designated. As soon as delivery confirmation is had then I am taking bike over for installation. I'm one of those who likes to ride but am pretty deficient in the mechanical department. Anyway, my advice is to keep calling and emailing them. If you are in back order for the foot pegs then by all means start pestering since they supposedly now have all the back orders in the shop.

I ordered the highway brackets for my wife's RS back in November (it was her Christmas Present). The full order arrived days before Christmas after awaiting parts from Kuryakyn to arrive.

I ordered some small stuff from them last Saturday. I got an email Tuesday saying the order was "Processing". I hope that doesn't mean that it will take weeks to get it. :(

I've had to deal with other companies that use stall tactics while they have your money with promises that your ordered product would be in soon. I try not to deal with companies like that. If they don't have the product, they should list it out of stock on the website with an estimated availability or at least tell the customer that the items are produced after the order is placed with an estimate on how long it takes to produce and ship. I think it is shady for a company to give the appearance that something is available for purchase when they don't even have one to sell.

I ordered their Gizmo Mount for Garmin/iPhone a week ago. I called today and they told me that they had all of the parts with exception of the spacers, but were expecting them 'any day'. In other words, back ordered. I have all of my Ram Ball Mounts from Amazon and GPScity, all ordered at the same time. I was not told at the time of order that this item was on back order. I was under the impression that it was being shipped that night or the next day.

They are slow, no slower than slow. If they slower they be going backwards. But they do nice work. That's IMHO.

I found the RS highway pegs to be of bad design. You have a single bolt trying to hold it in place...if you put a decent amount of pressure on it, it will roll. A far better design would've been to have 2 bolts along the bracket...this way, there could be no rotation. I tried various ways to lock mine down and even used red loctite...I think it is pretty good now, I think, but I wouldn't rely on them...

I think the design is simply flawed...could've done a far better job. I posted pics a year or two ago...if someone is great with thread searches, they might be able to find them...no idea where they are now, but it's easy to see the problem if you look at them installed...

well they seem to have all the excuses down

I had to jump around and find a number to even call them. I finally found it and got the good ole "family emergency" and that shipping would be back later on today (Tuesday). They took my name and address and phone and order number, but as of Wednesday night no return call.

Hopefully LaMonster is keeping up with this ... maybe removal from his vendor list would light a fire under them.

They have a $500.00 order sitting there from me. There is only one thing that pisses me off more than a vendor who is slow and that is one who can't even call you back or answer emails.

I don't want to argue the merits or demerits of this, or any, vendor, but please try to remember that many of these folks are running small, specialty businesses out of their homes, and the machine work is all sent out to little job shops. There are often no huge inventories, or staff members to answer the phone while they are on vacation, at a show, or buying the groceries. A little patience, tolerance, and understanding can get you some good parts...but not instantly.

On the other hand, failure to respond to a customer in due time, and explain the situation, or to charge their credit card prematurely, is not a good way to build a good reputation and grow your customer base. There is room for improvement.

I hope you can get your order taken care of soon.

Scotty, I always agree with you...except on this...this company has a steady string of threads on this issue...I also found a serious design flaw with their foot pegs...I think people posting here have very legitimate complaints that have been levied many times before over the last few years...any company, large or small, should learn from mistakes, and improve...if they are to make it...this company has not changed their ways and this is why they get so many complaints...

Let's try a slightly different tack here. Has anyone had good, prompt, service from this company?

Are they charging your credit card when they receive your order, or do they wait until the item is shipped?

If the cc is being charged and customers are being given the "run around", its probably time to cancel the sponsership.

I suggested early on that here is a great opportunity to make things right. I note the vendor has not come on with "their side" of the situation.

I had quick service from them. Ordered the honeycomb grill for my radiator. Got it via USPS within a week as I recall. Though they never have answered any of my emails.

Bone Crusher,

I agree with you. The story of how they got that way is a long one but the design intent was for only 1 link to be used at a time.. The ones that are shipping now have been updated and have a 2 bolt locking link. and are stiffer and have less vibration.
