• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any one tried this locking mechanism for a Garmin Zumo 660- or other models?

I have looked into them and they are certainly over-engineered. I have seen them at the BMW rally and really like them but at $180 i think I will just keep removing it and putting it away while traveling.

If the $$$ isn't an issue, I am sure you will love it!

I have the older type Touratech locking mount for my Zumo 660- It has been in use for over 2 yrs - Well pleased with it

At least I know its more secure when I fill up with fuel and leave the Spyder to pay for it at the kiosk the Zumo is locked on its
mount at least stops anyone doing a quick grab for it as the Zumo supplied mount is easy to use to release the Zumo about
3-5 secs

See this thread posted sometime ago -Note they have redesigned the locking mount as the key is located at the bottom and not at
the top as per my mount

I designed a little clip that prevents the release button from being activated to release the 660/665 from its cradle unless you know how to remove it. Not as secure as the key lock by any means but it cost me $0.00 and about 1/2 hour to make.

My security device cost me $5. Whenever I go in to pay for gas or go for lunch, I drape my Shampa over the GPS until I get back. Out of sight, out of mind. Never any problems, besides, the external locking devices are clunky and can actually draw attention.

I had a locking mechanism with my 550 that did not come with the 665; however, I dont miss the abilty to lock down the 665. If I get off for the night, I hit the button and put the GPS in the tourpak...or trunk. It's easyier than you think.

I have this on my RS and have no problems with it...Provides additional security but if somebody wants to rip it off, they'll rip it off...It's a deterrant that I think is worth the money.
