• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Any news on 2018 Deliveries?

Are any of the 2018 Spyders already in their new homes?
I was told by BRP, that deliveries would begin this Month; has anyone gotten a call from their Dealer yet?

I was at the bike show here in Edmonton today and I was Shocked they didn't have one 2018 model on the floor!
I was really looking forward to having an up close and personable look at the new cluster.
As for delivery dates here the salesman said they were excepting the first ones to hit their floor by the end of the month...

I'm in California and I have been told by my dealer that my 2018 RT-L will ship this week and, depending on road conditions, should arrive sometime in the next two weeks. Maybe by the end of next week but most likely the following week.

I'm still trying to get more info on the bluetooth capabilities. If I get the CB will it require a cabled headset or will it work through the radio and will the radio/CB sounds come through to the BT headset? My dealer tells me no one uses the old fashioned CB, they all network their BT headsets (specifically Sena 20s). I don't know a single Goldwing rider that has BT headsets yet.

I got a call from my dealer yesterday (Thurs.), they wanted a few pictures of my 2014 Spyder to show to potential buyers.

He said he expect my 2018 to be in by the end of the month, we'll see.

Given the current weather over here, I"m not in a big rush, when it get here, it will only make the rest of winter seems that much longer.

You beat me to the thread. I was going to start one like this. I was wondering specifically about your new one.:yes:

Using popcorn--(short term) rather than BBQ (long term). I hope.

Bob just call BRP up and tell them to deliver it down here to FL so I can keep it in a safe and warm environment for ya .

Your dealer is feeding you.......a smoke screen.

BT headsets become pretty much useless if the bikes are more than a hundred feet apart.

My understanding is the newer BT headsets will “network” with each other so the lead bike will be able to communicate with the tail by way of the all the riders headsets repeating the communication. That is IF everyone has the latest headset AND the firmware is all up to date. I use Uclear and their new AMP units are capable of networking but not sure how this networking will work with multi brand headsets. Bluetooth is Bluetooth right?

The one thing I can’t get used to is the large groups the Spyder riders are doing. It’s been found that 5-6 bikes in a groups works and is safer than a larger group.

No idea where you got this idea but our SENA sets have no trouble communicating nearly a mile apart if there is line of sight. About a half mile if not. Plenty of range for a group of riders. The newer mesh technology sets will extend this considerably for larger groups.

All of the 18s will be delivered next week except for Bob and Susan’s, they won’t be delivered until March.

:yikes: Sometimes it feels as if that's gonna happen. :gaah:
We took a ride up the Dealership this morning... I didn't sleep a wink, and we listened to Disco Music the entire trip!

After that: it was easy to glare at them through some very bloodshot eyes! nojoke
They pulled the order up, and it's still saying "January"... (Just not when! :cus:)
As soon as they get the V.I.N.; they know that it's on the way, and that takes about 10 days or so.

But in the meantime: they're throwing in some of the new RT armrests for the Missus, and will deliver the bike to my garage in an enclosed trailer!

I can't wait to see a pic of it in front of your office like all the other official Bob Denman visit pics!
