There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Any New Ideas on Highway Pegs In the Works ?

I have the Billet highway bracket and it works OK but still seems to be a little wide for me .... just not really comfortable .... functional yes.
i think that I would like something that allows more of a 90 degree calf to thigh angle and still be as close in as possible - Obviously not getting in the way of the brake pedal. Plus being structurally sound and not flexing or bouncing like the current highway bracket. Am I asking for too much ?

After I rode my Spyder this morning, I decided to take a little spin on my VTX1800 - I had forgot how comfortable, smooth with perfect leg position. Man.....if I could get that on the Spyder , it would be like Christmas !

I too am considering various ideas for how to allow my legs ( which are used to me Harley E-Glide) to get used to riding in a sportbike position. I will have to wait till I receive my Spyder, but I have several ideas to try to allow the use of highway bars, or a floorboard concept.

Jim, I have a set of the brackets, that came in this week, to put on mine, when it gets here. You talk about being wide, after straddling a V8 Chevy on my Boss Hoss's it will probably feel narrow to me. I have a set of The Kuryakyn peg mounts that rotate, that I took off one of my other bikes, they let you move the pegs forward and back and up and down. Don't know if they will be necessary or not. But will give more flexabilty as to where the pegs are located, rather than the one location on the brackets.

Wsup araneae,

Is that you on the :spyder:or BigDave, or are you one and the same:dontknow:. BigDave referenced the images when responding to my concern about how a 6' 5.5" ryder would look on the:spyder:. I love the look of the placement of the pegs. I take it you haven't experienced any problems with your weight on them? Is that mounting bolt pre-existing or did you have to put it there? What do you think the max. weight is?

New Highway Bracket

This is a prototype highway peg bracket I am finishing up. This was a tester, and the final location of the peg will be out a little more, froward a little more and canted inboard about 15 degrees or so. It's really sturdy, and easy to install. These will be available in a few weeks or so.

That is me, we are not the same. I use the existing motormount bolts to attach the pegs so there is modification to the bike. I have had someone that weighs a good 250 get on the bike by using the highway peg and it did not bend or stress it at all. I do not recomend putting your body weight on them, they are designed to simply give you an alternate position to rest your feet while riding. For reference in the photos I'm 5'10" and 180 lbs. Send me a PM if you need more info.

Mad Max

I like the bracket location and look you have. I would like to order your bracket when it's available. Will the location interfere with any service?

Let me know via email when you are ready... :2thumbs:

Matt, That is the highway peg I want! Will the mounting position be fixed or can it be mounted where I need it? I'm 4'10" and will probably need it closer than most people. What do you mean when you say the final position will be "out a little more?"

Winnie,

No worries, I will make a setup just for you! We might use a small offset bracket to bring yours closer in, but I will make sure you are taken care of ! Your 9 inch bars are at the powder coaters now, and your extended cables are on order!

madmatt,:agree:

These really look nice and I also am 220# 6'2" (eyes of blue :D ), please contact me also: [email protected] when available. I like the position, as I am considering new seats, and this position will be perfect for sitting upward with NM risers installed as well. Alot to do this winter..

If you are concerned about how wide your legs have to go for the highway brackets you can try what I did. By eliminating the clevis and mounting the peg/floorboard directly to the bracket you save about 2" on each side. It seems to have helped me and it is a more comfortable position.

Thanks Matt! I am getting a new seat in October. After I get it we can talk and you can tell us what measurements you need. You are the best!
