• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any locals to Spyderfest that are Civil War buffs?

I am an amateur Civil War hobbyist in an area that is rich in Civil War history, through nearby Gettysburg, Pa. I just brushed up on Springfield/Ozark Civil War history through a few web sites, and found remarkable similarities between Brig. General Marmaduke's march into the Second Battle of Springfield and General Lee's march into the north that ended at Gettysburg. It appears that both had some goals that among others were intended to draw Union troops into the open and also to capture or destroy major resupply points for the Union Army. There is a driving tour in Springfield and a few other attractions I have found and intend to explore. Any local historians that could share local site info would be appreciated. Wife and I will be taking this opportunity to explore the local Civil War history!
