• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any info on this?

So I came across a used spyder for sale. Cool but not much info available (consignment deal fyi) didn't even know how to start! Lol any how is MT under 11k miles silver and has this passenger backrest/luggage rack I've never seen on a spyder? Anybody know if its just for older bikes or anything, helpful plz. Thx. Dealer wont open till Tuesday for me to try again.

My first thought is that that is an ATV rack made to fit. :(

Looks like they drilled right through the pass grab handle too. :banghead:

.

Also, w only 2 front bolts (if I'm seeing correctly) looks like it will teeter front and back. :(

Thx yall we are in redneck haven prolly is just that. Fyi the backrest is slightly adjustable. I'll learn more ties when i go back

DIY...!!

looks like it is a home made rack and back rest. Like snoopy pointed out the mounting looks a bit flimsy but a good idea. Could not hold much weight if used as a backrest as well.

I agree - definitely a home brew job. Have the owner take the RS to a Spyder dealer and do a full check. If it's as advertised, you pay for the once over, if it isn't, he pays.

Ok got info today yes home brew as well as the windshield ImageUploadedByTapatalk1426053503.882560.jpg. ,cool enough there is a fuel/oxygen mix gauge tooImageUploadedByTapatalk1426053591.509663.jpg 2010RS-S used for sell under11k miles. Hope is good enough for my bud to snag & we can go spyderfest.

Look again at the pix you posted and you can see just the edge of the top of the inner bolt, left side, just barely.

IMO

Too much rust on places that are easy to keep rust free: clutch master cylinder has rusty cap bolts & corrosion on the cap, ignition key recess has rust, rear fender bolts are a mess & the front of the muffler is missing its heat shield.

You might be buying a totally unloved pos or something that has been stored outside, uncovered, all its life. Personally, I would not touch it.

OG - I've had a lot of fun, over the years, buying crusty/basket case bikes and restoring them. If you can get a good deal, the bones are good, and you can/don't mind the work - go for it. You'll never make money, but you can sometimes get a unique ride, you otherwise couldn't afford.

I do that myself every year to keep me busy over the long winter here & sell it in the Spring. I just think a Spyder is not one of the bikes I would take a chance on - too complicated electronically.

Bfromla: sorry for the slight thread hijacking!

Np we rednecks fancy ourselves experts @ just that! more fun to make it our own & know every detail of it, all the effort we put into it, some more than others but fun all the same. The rust will give my bud the room to haggle price down. Fyi first estimate they asked was $7500 Under 11k miles With dead battery & all that you have commented on, they have already agreed to get new battery & proper wind screen to hlp sell. B4 my bud has had a chance to see, just my relay of his interest. & he's a wheeling dealing type, its gonna be great. Thx guys, only true concern i have is the oxygen sensor makes me think they were running engine lean or racing. Not my area of expertise.
