I now suspect that dealer applied zip tied vacuum hose is/was a major contributing factor to my initial engine problems.
As an experiment, I attached a
temporary smaller zip tie to the vacuum hose fitting - one that I was actually able to attach
tight enough so that I could no longer pull the hose off by hand. The dealership had used a big one that is usually seen on the frame holding wire bundles together.
Filled the tank with gas and Seafoam.
Went out for a 225 mile ride thru small towns and interstate highways at various speed ranges.
Engine ran great - very smooth at all speeds. Actually hit 200 miles on the gas tank where my normal is about 175.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the new silicone vacuum hoses do the trick, and, that new CPS unit when it arrives.
