• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Gatlinburg goers good with decals?

For my POW*MIA Spyder, I have a decal of the names of all of the Navy POWs that were repatriated in 1973. Tried putting it on my Smuggler Trunk twice but botched it up royally!

Anyone going to Galtinburg this month that is good with decals? The worst that could happen is that I have to remove a third one :roflblack:

Wonder just what method you are using to apply your decals?

I've installed some rather larger graphics on my 18 wheeler truck (used to pull my RV) and again on my :spyder2:. The method I use is to spray a mixture of water and liquid dish soap (50/50) on the clean area prior to the installation of the graphics. This allows you to move/slide the graphics plus you can use a credit card (or other plastic 'thing') to squeeze out any air bubbles. Keep the area wet until you have the graphic positioned where you want it.

Can't find a photo of my bike's graphics off hand.:cus: ....well, I just found the post: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11738

Others on the forum might have their favorite methods as well.

20 years ago, I worked at two different places where I installed vinyl graphics and we always used a process like you describe. The only difference is that we had some special product instead of the 50/50 soap and water mixture you use. It served the same purpose though, to keep the adhesive from grabbing so you could position the vinyl graphics. A firm plastic squeegee was then used to smooth out the graphics and press the adhesive firmly onto the substrate (plastic, metal, glass, vinyl banners, etc.) we were applying the graphics to.

Before I apply it, I've been debating making ac vinyl decal instead but need to do more research on the process first such as printing it
