• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any F3 owners with Shad Bags added Taillights? Need details?

The black Mutazu bags look sweet on our F3. Gotta find a sticker to cover the emblem.

I've been trying to find a small red reflector that I could possibly put leds in. I got the same bags in white with black tops from the manufacturer and they have the disc but no sticker. Thinking about cutting a circle out of the red or white reflective tape until I can find something I like.

I just installed the Shad bags I got from Imotorsports today. The Spyderlovers discount is 10% and the service is great. That's the good stuff. The bad is that Can Am's instructions suck. I understand when instructions translated from Chinese or Japanese suck, but the last I heard, Canada is an English speaking country, so I expect better from Canadian engineers even if they are from Quebec. On the other hand, the mounts are outstanding and the bags are great. They make the bike a little hippier than I would like, but they are still narrower than the handlebars.

Unfortunately they are very likely written byt the engineers. Always the worst people to write instructions, especially for non-engineers.

Yes they are....but if the lights are used, your would have to find some kind of quick disconnect plug in to make them removable.

Just bought a set of these bags, JimVonBaden. What type of round bar did you use, size etc?

Thanks

How did you wire the saddlebag light to be a brake light and running light?

I just recently purchased almost identical bike with mutazu bags installed but the lights were not hooked up. Where and how did you wire them? 2015 spyder f3s

Not chastising anyone here, just pointing out a few things that might help you in getting the best from the Forum Beerme, and it might help anyone else reading this too. ;)

So - :oldpost: - It always pays to check the date on the FIRST post in any thread you might wish to reply to or want to ask a question in, AND check the dates of at least the last few posts, cos if you had done that here Berrme, you would've seen that this is quite an old thread, and even the post you replied to is quite old - that is, if it's the post from f3spyder that I THINK it is, which was put up back in 2017! A little thread archeology is never a bad thing, but asking questions of people long gone from the Forum in an old thread probably won't get you a great result; and by looking at the date of the thread & last few posts, you can see how old it is; while by clicking on the username alongside the particular post you're asking about, you can see that particular poster hasn't been on the boards here since October last year!

Also, if you aren't replying to the last post in the thread, and especially if you're replying to a post on a different page of the thread, it helps to either name the poster you are replying to; or use the 'Reply with Quote' facility (bottom Right corner of each post! ;) Besides, if you do the latter, you can edit out anything that's not essential to your response question too, cutting down on needlessly duplicating stuff others have seen already - especially if there's a bunch of text &/or pics not related to your question - this can make the reading a whole lot easier for others too! However, if you do that, please make sure that you leave the word QUOTE AND both sets of Square brackets at each end of the Quote intact!! :lecturef_smilie:

I agree about the instructions. I do like my shad bags though. I think they actually compliment the bikes lines.

Like I said up just a few posts, you really should check the date Das! :oldpost: ;)

CA Railwhale put up that post you quoted waaayyyy back in 2017; and hasn't been on the Forum since September 2022!

I’ve gotten used to them and now actually like the Spyder better with them on than off. It’s now the non-riding season here in Arizona so I’m considering taking off the adjustable backrest and adding the Shad top case to match the saddlebags.

I've been lurking, lost my password, and was too lazy to reset it.

I added lights to my Shad saddlebags a couple of years ago. I bought them from admorelighting.com, and also the red reflectors (available from Shadusa, and others). When I added the rear shelf, I also added a light.
