• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any difference between various versions of Jockey Shifter?

There are 3 retailers selling versions of the Jockey Shifter for the Ryker. See below...

Wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to see more than one of these in person...

Is there any difference between them? They all look about the same... But the T-Rex one is quite a bit cheaper than the other two and wondering if the quality is the same...

Thanks for any replies!

I've had the T-Rex for a couple of months, no problem with installation or durability. Looks good, works great.

In looking at the T-Rex ad their product is on sale right now, so that could be the reason for the cheaper price.

I will say sometimes sling mods stuff just seems to me to be cheap stuff made in china that they retrofit for the ryker and then charge way to much for. That is just my opinion tho.

In the case of the jockey shifter, theirs was actually first to the market and it was designed by a ryker owner and handbuilt by him here in the USA. All of the slingmonds ones are actually built and then sent out by him. I know this because he is in the ohio ryker/spyder facebook group. Originally it was much better quality/more robust than the trex one but as Lamonster has stated the T-REX has been redesigned and made stronger.

I dont own either because i have no problem using my foot to shift and it is pricey for an aesthetic upgrade but i know that not everyone can shift as easily or the aesthetics are important to them. I have seen the slingmods one in person and if i was in the market for one I would get it because ive met the guy who makes them and would like to support him… BUT then again the trex one is $40 or $50 dollars cheaper so its not like he is a close friend.

I dont think you can go wrong with the quality for either

Delivery was fast to Ontario, less than a week.

Installation was pretty straight forward, and I do not consider myself handy in any way... :D

Works great! Well, in my garage while sitting still anyway... I will have to wait for some snow to melt before I try it out on the road!

Side Note... If anyone buying this from Canada, check on the customs fees first, as I was caught off guard by customs charge of over $70 on top of what I already paid...

Well, technically you can only use it while it's parked so you've pretty much seen all it can do. lol

But yeah, you'll love the gadgety factor and the ease of switching between gears in real world situations.

Just purchased the T-Rex for my 2022. Hopefully nothing changed that would make it not fit.

*Edit - Thinking about getting a white shifter ball off amazon to match the new rally wheels. :)

I have purchased a few aftermarket parts for my Rykers, and it is good to have manufacturers that innovate and give us various options. But there is a way to easily just rotate the shift pedal 30 degrees clockwise. This makes it so easy and convenient to just use your shoe to get into reverse, so it seems to me that spending money on this problem in unnecessary. Due to a left knee injury back in the late 60's, which has gotten worse every year.
Also being the reason I gave up my Ducati and purchased the Ryker, this stick shifter is GREAT.
