• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any Changes in the 2015 vs. the 2014?

Joe and Bob, the wife said she would be happy to come to Arkansas and help out, but her lawn mowing service will pick up when spring comes....she also would be glad to help you by lending you some money. As you are my friends and fellow Spyders, she said you would get her premium interest rate.... 12% compunded semi daily....

p.s. She also has a snow removal service for my northern friends...it last snowed here in 1986....over 1" and it was terrible. (We spent four years at Grand Forks AFB, ND...we know snow and cold!!)

:spyder2:

I am beginning to doubt that she reads this forum :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: I don't know why i think that :dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::dontknow:.

Cruzr Joe

I caught BRPCare surfing the site about 10:00 PM about a week ago. 4:00 AM their time. nojokenojoke I am guessing they have thick skin. You need that here sometimes. :roflblack::roflblack:
I agree. But unfortunately most here have very thin skin....[emoji57]

 Does this mean that we'll have to listen to those :cus: 1880 owners, crowing about how great the new engine is? :gaah:
I'll be REALLY ticked-off if it gets 50 mpg...

Say it ain't so, Joe...

Is it just me or is BRP driving the market on these bikes? I have a 2012 RT-S Limited that I'm trying sell for health reasons. It's a great bike but BRP keeps upping the game with drastic changes to the models to the point where my 2012 (with only 450 miles on the clock) is virtually WORTHLESS !!! I thought about staying in the game until I recovered from my issues but I couldn't even get 3 dealers to take it in for a trade on a newer model (2014). As I was quoted, "You've got stuck with a RT-S Limited "lite". No power, bad mileage, sub standard frame, etc..." Same dealer said he is considering dropping BRP for that very reason. He can't get repeat customers because the products he has been selling lose their value so quickly he can't offer decent trade in values for newer models. There are hundreds, if not thousands of these models up for sale coast to coast with no buyers. And who can blame them? Hell, I would go for a 2014 or 2015 before buying a 2012 myself based on what BRP has done (and done well). Technology doesn't wait for anyone, and change can be good, but when a manufacture makes the products they produced become worthless overnight they aren't doing themselves, the consumers or the industry any good. Like I said I love my Spyder but if I am able to sell it I highly doubt I will buy another BRP product until they can show a stabilized market for their products. The knife cuts both ways.

I know, I know, before you say it I sure I'm coming across as a cranky old fart who loves to rant, but it does give one food for thought. Anyway, I hope y'all keep enjoying your rides and roll up the miles. ;)

Joe was joking. There is no 1880 four. Very little change in the 2015 RT's

There are many who would say that BRP is slow on making changes rather than making changes to fast and causing the market on used items to crash.

When I had my 2008, I wished for a "touring version" to come out. That took until 2010 when they introduced the RT. Unfortunately, it was a RS tweeked to be a touring version and was seemingly a bit underpowered. Many early RT owners were discussing how a bigger engine would probably make a difference--myself included.

It took another 4 years for BRP to come out with the 1330 triple. That one does seem to be a winner.

Next year 2015, we now have the F3 which has the bigger 1330 engine and is likely to find a new niche market with :spyder2: owners. This still leaves the 2008 RS virtually untouched after 8 years. There have been a lot of owners of those models that have been wanting change for many years.

The process looks slower to me, rather than faster.

Believe me, Joe's joke wasn't lost on me. He just helped drive home my point and you make a good point about the run up to new models taking a while. But the RS and RT models have been out for quite a while now so the run up toward newer technology is shorter all the time. I think BRP has done a great job with changes to the models, and as I said, I wouldn't mind owning a 2014 / 15 model because of it. There's a fine line that BRP is walking between the advance of models vs. the rapid decrease in value of it's (not so old) models. The F3 looks like a great new model but is it going to de-value other models that came before it? Time will tell. And now a BRP owned company (Polaris) is introducing the Sling Shot three wheeler. More de-valuation of the BRP branded products??? It starts to make that fine line a lot more fuzzy. Maybe BRP needs to use a little back door approach /help (money) for it's dealers to allow them to offer better trade in values for older models. This has been going on in the car market for ever.

Aw, to hell with them. I think I'll just keep my so called "One of those models" and enjoy it. There's really nothing wrong with it anyway. It gets the job done with plenty enough power and comfort for us. We didn't buy it for gas mileage or with intent to trade it in every 2 years. It's a toy, and a damned good one.

You know, this is why I personally love this forum so much. Great bunch of people with different perspectives on issues coupled with some great advice when you need it.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL MY FELLOW SPYDER OWNERS...
