today i test drove a 2014 ford explorer sport and really liked it. i told the sales man that the lease on my infiniti g37x is up in July. being a sales man he wanted to sell me a car today and wanted my info for infiniti so he could check with them and see what he could do. so with that i stopped him in his tracks and said i am not ready to do a deal until July.

how does trading a lease car work on buying a new car of a different brand. does anyone have any information on doing this. because i found a dealer that has the explorer that i want in red like i want with all the options that i want. any help would be greatly appreciated

The Ford dealer simply contacts the leasing company to get a buyout price on your existing lease. From there they will determine if they can buy that leased vehicle and consider it a trade and make you happy. You can purchase or lease the Ford.

Yep. If the buyout is reasonable you treat it like a trade-in with money still owed.
