• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any 2016 F150 Owners?

Hmm, my 2002 F250 just keeps rolling along. I get 18mpg around town no problem and 20 on the open road. I have thought several times about replacing it but sticker prices in the 65 to 70k range make it obvious that maintenance is far cheaper. With the updates I have done over the years, there is little advantage to replace and LOTS more money in initial cost, repairs and maintenance costs. The pricing has just gotten ridiculous. Well over 2x what I paid for this truck for no real world benefits. Just tighter emissions compliance. I get asked if its for sale all the time.

I do wish Chevy would put the LT4 engine in a hot rod truck model. I might have a hard time not going there. Ford has little of any performance capability now so nothing in the pipeline.

I don't understand? The gov'ment says there hasn't been any inflation!

That's right; no bailout money for them!

While it is true that Ford did not take money from TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program), Ford asked for 9 billion line of credit from Congress because they were afraid the economy would worsen. Ford was given a 5.9 billion loan from TALF (Term-Asset Backed Securities Loan Facility), to fast track fuel efficient and electric cars since the ***** administration wanted By the way, Nissan and Tesla also took loans as well. Ford also lobbied heavily for the Cash for Clunkers Program.

So yes, in a way Ford didn't take a buyout. But they did take government money, read that taxpayer money, to retool their factories. They also agreed to sell off Volvo and close dealerships. One of those dealerships that Ford closed was one that my brother in law had worked at for nearly 30 years. It should also be noted that in 2006 Ford mortgaged it's assets and raised 24.5 billion in cash.

Yea well...facts never got in the way of a good story. My loaded Lariat F250 Crewcab diesel stickered at 33k in late 2001. I seriously looked at a new 2016 Lariat F250 Crewcab diesel and the sticker was 67k....looks pretty close to 2x to me.

I can do A LOT of maintenance for 67k....

Remember Oldsmobile, Saturn and the rest that are no longer manufactured ?

So is GM and Chrysler. What's your point?

For the fiscal year ending September 2015, GM had a 17.6% market share while Ford had a 15.1% market share. FCO/Chrysler was at 12.7%. For the month of September 2015 Ford led all manufactures in sales. GM was second. Ford F150 sales lagged for the month at 16% while GM's 1500 series trucks led the way at 22%.

I like Ford and think they are doing well. They would have been foolish if they didn't lobby for cash for clunkers.
If we knew what everyone lobbied for these days and all the groups that were paid for doing something (or nothing) we'd probably go crazy.

I want to apologize if I came across strong and a Ford hater. I am not. I am just tired of people bashing GM and Chrysler and wanted to point out that Ford is not as squeaky clean as they would like the public to think Yes, I drive GM products and have since 2003. Before that, I drove Ford products. I changed because I got tired of Fords quality issues on some of the vehicles I was driving. I couldn't get satisfaction from the local dealer or Ford. The kicker was when I was looking for a new truck, the local dealer tried to charge me $1,000.00 more then they originally quoted. It was their mistake, not mine. But they insisted I fork over the difference. I was escorted from the dealership. I went down to the local Chevy dealer and purchased a new 2004 Silverado. I've been driving it since and its been trouble free as has the other GM products we have.
