• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For about 4 years I've had bitdefender and each year you pay a renewal and get an upgrade, typically $49.95; sometimes there's a special. Does anyone use an anti-virus software that you pay one price and get free updates and can continue to use it year to year?

You can use Microsoft Security Essentials for the PC......it is free and does about as good as other software.

AVAST AntiVirus

I have been using AVAST for many years on several computers with no charges at all. It is one of the top-rated Virus protection packages plus it has about the lowest overhead of any package I have used.

I recently acquired a new Lenovo Yoga 13 and it included McAfee which I promptly deleted and installed AVAST.

We have..!!

Norton and AOL offers free service to it's customers. Things have been good..!!

I've been using AVG FREE for a few years now, works for me. :D

+1. Have it installed on home and work laptops and it works just fine. You really do not need a virus protection on the Mac products; I have regular desktops and 2 iMac laptops and no anti-virus on them. Never had any issues.

I use Norton Internet Security and from Trinity Software its only about $20 a year with free Disk shipping!!!

And if not, MS Security Essentials is not bad.

Viper

Vipre by GFI Software works quite well. They had been based out of St Petersburg FL until the original company Sunbelt Software merged with them. I have been a beta tester with them for 10 years. I run it on a net book, laptop, and two desktops. Definition updates daily, software updates as needed automatic download unless you turn it off. Includes a firewall that is also impenetrable by most hackers.
