• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anti Sway Bar for the 2012 RT-S ...

I'm new 2 all this technical stuff regarding the RT-S (mine - 2012 RT-S), so my question is; why would I need an Anti Sway Bar for my RT-S? It's my understanding that it helps with stability in high winds on the open road, but what other reasons are there to have it installed?

First, let me explain that you already have an anti-swaybar on your RTS. The aftermarket versions are stiffer units to improve performance. The main purpose of the anti-swaybar is to limit body roll in the turns. Some of that can also be dealt with by changing or optimizing front spring preload, or by installing aftermarket performance shocks. Those solutions have other consequences, though, which may or may not be desirable. If you are happy with the way your Spyder corners, there is no reason to change anything. If you feel it leans to the outside too much in a corner, or if you want to go faster through the corners, you may want to consider an aftrermarket swaybar, aftermarket shocks, or both.

Thanks for the reply ...

Thanks! That explains it perfectly and in terms I can understand! I think my Spyder hugs the twists/turns well and I don't want 2 change a thing if it's unnecessary. I have no fear (ex-Harley rider) when it comes to the ride and cornering (although lean principal is different on the roadster), I feel safe on my RT-S as it is now.

:agree:
I just changed to BajaRon's Anti-SwayBar. :2thumbs:
I used to feel the bike begin to lean as I initiated a turn... then the bike would load the outside tire... then it would change directions.
Now; tweak the bars, and it just goes!
