• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anti Freeze Leak

Looks like my SpYder has developed a leak . After riding and parking the SpYder, usually a couple of hours later, a pool of antifreeze (about an ounce or two) forms underneath. No codes, not running hot. I have lifted it up, peeked and probed around without locating the source :dontknow:. Alright guys and gals help me out here.

The first thing to check is the worm clamp on the hose it's the only worm clamp there, Right side bottom behind the radiator, No panel need to be removed to check and if need to be tighten. Quite a few were lose and leaking.

In addition to tightening the worm clamp and the checking the coolant reservoir for cracks, make sure the pressure cap is turned all the way to the second detent, or coolant will flow out the overflow hose. If these don't solve the problem, there are several other possibilities. You will have to remove the body panels to check thoroughly.

Thanks everyone, I'm hoping it's something as simple as tightening a clamp. Find out later.

Let us know if it is that clamp, Mine leaked at that clamp back in May of 08, Long before i found Spyderlovers'
Had only 500 miles at that point, fixed it myself. And yet still people to this date find that clamp leaking.:dontknow:

:agree: And as Doc mentioned - it could be a crack in the coolant tank. I had a crack in mine, ended up getting 250km on it (close to home) waiting for the new tank to come in. Indeed, take the panels off if you can. If you can't, look up under the tank from just above the radiator for drips. Mine cracked on the backside of the tank, difficult to see unless you really get in there.

Hope it is just a clamp. Yes, please keep us updated.
Cheers.

A crack developed on reservoir (it was an RS). It was a warranty repair. Less than two years old.

Good people at Fun Machines in Daytona Beach did it for me while I was down at Bike week a couple of years ago!

Antifreeze Leak possibility

I had something like that happen to me also. Try as I might, I could not find out where it was coming from. One Spyderlover said to check the weep hole on the water pump. Low and behold, that's where it was coming from. Dealer said that this happens when the bike isn't ridden enough, like thru the winter and should stop when I ride it more when the weather gets warm enough to ride. And also not to overfill the tank because that will cause it to happen too. You'll have to tear off the plastic and use a flexible reach mirror to see it. In your case, hope it's just a clamp. If not, maybe this will help.

I had warranty replacement of the reservoir. I could only find the pin hole leak after the engine got hot. the hole was in the area around the the molding lip on the center of the tank.

UPDATE ON ANTI FREEZE LEAK

Well, took the Spyder down to get check out. Diagnoses: coolant line coming from radiator to engine not installed properly causing unseated hose to leak
:dontknow:. Fix: replace one Bride Serrage clamp (part # 293650077). And naturally they did not have one in stock, so they had to get one at an auto shop. Glad that's all it was. Would have been a pleasant experience, BUT, get the Spyder, start down the road and see the left middle panel flaring out . Dangnabit, how hard can it be to put the plastic back on properly!!!! Anyway, thanks everyone.[/QUOTE]
