• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My stupid antenna is MIA on the RT. Looks like part #
710001402. I won't have to change out the cable assy too will I? Looks like it broke off inside the rubber base. Ironically, my radio reception improved. I was getting a FM station clear as a bell from a station 30-40 miles away around noon yesterday.

A lot of people have gone to the WalMart "shortee" antenna. They cost about $10 and fit in like they were meant to. Add a lock washer and a "DROP" of locktite on the bottom thread only. You should be good to go.

Really? Thats good info. What about the cable connection? Are they the same?

I think the only thing you may have to do to the WalMart one is to enlarge the hole on the black rubber piece that screws into the bike.

You don't need the cable from the WalMart antenna. Pull off your rubber boot. If your old antenna broke off you unscrew what is left behind. If you old antenna vibrated lose just screw in the right adaptor from the WalMart Antenna and then the antenna. Real easy unless your old antenna broke off flush with the base. Then you have to drill and re-tap the base.

It was there on Saturday when I bumped into your antenna :dontknow:

When installing the walmart , they have an adapter with them. Just unscrew old one that is left. Take current rubber cap and make 4 small slices at the hole , you will be able to push it on and doesn't look bad!

Mine broke off the same way. The Walmart antenna fits but I found it would not pick up any distant radio stations as in Canada our stations are few and far between. I removed the antenna from my dodge and found the bottom thread was smaller but had a shank above it that I just ran a thread on ( M6X1 Tread]and it fit perfect. It is the same leangth as the BRP one and is stainless steel so should never break. I went to our garbage dump and out of 5 vehicles 3 used that same antenna. It is common on all different makes of vehicles so could get from a junk yard or wrecker.
