• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am putting a J & M CB antenna on my 2014 RTS. How do you get the speaker/armrest/antenna pod open to get the old antenna out and put the new one in? I have removed all the screws that I can find and cannot figure out how to continue. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Going to a dealer is out of the question right now as pieces of tupperware are all over my garage floor. Thanks in advance? Dick

I could be mis-taken .....but I thought the .....CB antenna was a separate antenna that was added to the left side POD !!!!.....There is even a cover on the POD for this...........The OEM antenna is used for the Radio etc.....Mike :bbq:

Blue is right, the CB antenna goes on the LEFT side. (Left side when you're sitting on the spyder facing forward...)

So you have the pod off, and have removed all of the screws?

The trick is that the outer plastic slides and locks on. If you look with a good light, you'll see the two fingers where it latches.

Then, on one side, the outer plastic actually clips over the black plastic base. You have to slide it a bit to get that to clear before you can separate the two.

I've got to take mine off to make a few adjustments to the 2m antenna that I have mounted on mine, but can take some pics if nobody else posts some before I do. It'll be several days, as it's actually dry right now, and that means no extended teardowns. (but the rain will be back, I'm sure.)

prayers answered

Thanks to Steve I was able to get the speaker/armrest/antenna pod opened and the new J & M antenna installed. The instructions that came with the new antenna required a magic wand and some secret words to complete the task. I said some words but they were not the correct ones. Thanks to the experience and good will of those on the Spyderlovers website You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Again--THANKS STEVE
