• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another wiring question

I am considering a 2013 RT Ltd with the new Trailer Hitch and square four plug.

I have an after market trailer with the flat four plug with LED lights.

What do i need to use this trailer with the new bike?

A Post-Graduate Degree in Advanced Electrical Engineering? :shocked: :roflblack: Seriously though; If you've got four in and four out on each plug; there's got to be an easy way to figure out what each wire does, and then build something to connect them together in the right places... :thumbup:

Thanks Bob, but i was hoping you would tell me to go to any automotive store and buy part #XXX-X and plug it in

Hello Joe.
Try trailer hitch plug adapters on the Internet. Looks like they have everything under the sun listed there.

I believe Can-Am sold an adapter for this, it was not cheap though. Other wise you can make your own, buy a square pigtail and a flat pigtail and wire them together.

i just made up an adapter for my trailer. you need a 4 square on one end and a 4 flat on the other end. Plug the 4 square into your hitch connector and test the ends on your 4 flat on your trailer to make sure the colors match up. Really not that hard to do.

Easiest way is to puchase a square-4 connector form NAPA or another auto parts store, or from a trailer store. Either splice it into your existing pigtail to retain bot connectors, or replace the flat-4 with the square-e, and you are in business. I suggest making temporary connections at first, and testing the lights, just in case the pattern is different on one of the connectors or the wire colors aren't standard. Standard trailer wiring code is:

White (or Blalck) = ground
Brown = running lights
Yellow = left turn/brake
Green = right turn/brake

And there you have it..!!

the site has spoken now all thats left is to go out and do it..!! Then let us know if they speak with a forked tongue....!!:roflblack:
