There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Another tire thread!!! For RS not RT

Tire

I am on my 3 rear tire on my 2012 RS-s got around 12000 on the Kenda did not like it. I ride about 75% of the time single but on long rides it 2 up
My first Kuhmo 205 55 15, I got around 29000 miles and have just over 9000 on my 3rd Kuhmo. I like the way handle I ride hard accelerate hard and
love the twisty. Oh ya I also pull a trailer on the long rides, it's getting harder to get the Kuhmo I have had to special order both of them at the local Discount Tire.
One more thing I guess if I want my tires to last I have to leave it in the garage :dontknow: but I just can't do that got to ride... jtpollock

IDK... I'm almost at 12K miles on my 2012 RS and the OEM rear tire tread is barely at 50%, with the wear fairly even all the way across. I've been running it at 28psi and check it about once a month.

I don't see much to complain about it really. I've been caught out in a cold rain while riding, and other than my face shield fogging up I felt the Spyder held the road just fine.... no handling issues in wet weather. I haven't had any alignments done on this Spyder and it seems to handle just fine and all 3 tires are wearing evenly... the next time they're doing Laser Alignments in my neck of the woods I may go ahead and spring for one just out of curiosity. :p

Why your tire worse down so very fast, I have no idea! What are your front tires like? :dontknow:

ps. There are some of those Michelin Hydroedge R15 tires on Ebay as of right now if anybody is looking for them. They look like a nice tire too.

"Turn and Burn just about every opportunity I have."

Ok that probably explains most of your problem with the OEM rear tire then... lol! I don't think too many tires are going to do much better than the OEM tire if you keep that style of riding up.

It is good to hear that your SE tranny and the clutch is holding together under those conditions though!

Regards and be safe out there... as much as possible anyhows!

Yup! Turn and burn baby!
The weird thing was I rode the same for the first 15k. I think another cause was tire pressure a little 2 high for solo riding and possible that I got a tire batch of softer rubber. Fronts are fine with little to no wear 6k miles. Needless to say I'm going to try a car tire and post my results in detail to shine some light on my experience.

Well I have about 600 miles in on the new tire. No problems having the tire mounted and balanced at the dealer. They were pretty impressed with toyo s drive and we're looking at side by side comparisons of the Kenda... I'm happy to have a actual tire on my bike vs a round piece of rubber dung. Great handling in rain and dry pavement, the tire has tach which grabs nicely on the road. You can fish tail to the left with this tire which is also impressive given the torque the pushes tire to the right. Anyways. It's on drive safe and drive fast.

$$$$

You need to look at the manufactururs specified ACTUAL tread width, not the nominal size number.

The 205/55-15 Yokohama S-drive is actually WIDER than the Kuhmo 225. The OEM Kenda is wider than the two at about 3/16 inch wider than the Yoko.

The Yokohama is a great tire on the Spyder with great wet and dry traction the Kuhmo does not. Its diameter is exactly the same as the OEM tire.
I would like to know --How much was the Yokohama S ? The tire that came with the 2014 R S lasted me 5200 miles -not bald -but I didn't want to take a chance. Too old for that.

Tire

Over 4000 miles on my OEM 2014 RS and the tire looks almost new. Run 28 pounds tire pressure and don't do many burnouts:)

Well that sounds boring!

5250 miles and my rear tire is INTO the last set of wear bars.:yikes: I already got a kumho. The cost of fun I suppose! A good amount of miles for 3 months of ownership, what a damn fun machine.
