• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

another tire question

Tire size calculators will give you a mathematical SIZE ………. However the actual size of any tire sold depends on the manufacturer. If you think every 165/60 - 15 tire is exactly the same - - - Well they aren't.... You really need to see what the tire maker states the dimensions are...…, Mike

You are spot on, that's why i actually went to the tire dealer to compare sizes etc. Thanks BK911.

I've just fitted the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 175/55R 15 with no clearance issues at all. Fitted the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003 205/55R 15 on the rear. Could have physically fitted a 215/55, but the aspect ratio/profile versus the front tires may have thrown the nanny into confusion.

I'm running 18/20 psi front/rear to start with but that may change. I cannot believe the difference in grip which is staggering compared to the kendras, along with straight line stability & braking. So good is the difference, i'm about to fit the same tires to my RT.

Anyone who hasn't fitted good car tires don't know what there missing. My only regret is not fitting them sooner.

I'm using your post as a quote, because you brought up the possibility of a tire size conflicting / upsetting the NANNY...….Because the Spyder suspension design restricts what tire sizes can be used, the difference between the front and rear tires ( even at extreme differences ) isn't large enough to Upset the Nanny. This is assuming you are using Stock BRP wheels or aftermarket that match the BRP sizes ……. Mike

Yes Mike you are correct. Since purchasing those tires & some more research, I've fitted 215/55 along with the 175/55 [ Bridgestone potenza ] on my RT & no problems. The 225/55 would have been ok also but for clearance issues. Thanks mate.

“The 225/55 would have been ok also but for clearance issues” ......eh? ......doesn’t that mean it would NOT have been OK, Trev?

Pete, I have built myself a '' inner guard '' ie a rock guard which is attached via 2 u-bolts DSCN1596.jpgto the rear shock mounting cross brace. Without the guard, I'am pretty sure you could squeeze in the 225/55 DSCN1598.jpg

Ahhhhhhhh. Gotcha Trev......makes sense.......I bought a rock guard and it protruded a little into that space which is why I went for the 205 Kuhmo, just in case. :2thumbs:
