Another encounter of a similar kind.....

During one our visits to Yellowstone back in the 80's we became involved in a traffic jam. Well, you know what a traffic jam means if you've ever been to Yellowstone. My wife and I were on a two wheeler at the time and while waiting for the traffic to clear, we stopped and got off for a short rest. Wouldn't you know it? Around a turn came this big a$$ bison lumbering along the pavement down the center line between the cars headed in our direction. Being a foot, we resorted to using stopped cars as a barrier between us and the beast. As he approached our motorcycle it seemed to catch his attention as he stopped and looked at it. I noticed that the bison had a small, very small, little tree stuck between his head and one of his horns. It appeared that he was looking at himself in one of my bike's rearview mirrors because he hesitated for a moment. Then seemingly, without a care in the world he gave my mirror a slobbery lick and ambled on down the road giving no attention to anything else. My wife was just sure he was going to knock our bike over but no, just a gentle lick and went on his way.
