• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another oil post...just my observation after 3000 mile service

I know another oil post. I just wanted to give my observation and see if anyone agrees. I have a 2016 RT SS. I took it in this morning to my local dealer for the 3000 mile service. I have always used Royal Purple products and decided to do the same with the Spyder. I had them put in 10w-40 RP max cycle. The service manager said to me, "we don't recommend this oil, but we will put it in if you want us to". So I said, it meets the specs in the manual so go ahead and use it. I'm sure this was just a CYA so he could write in the notes that "customer used their own oil. " The thing that somewhat surprised me was that on the way home, I could feel a noticeable improvement in the smoothness of the up shifting. I don't know if it was because I may have been expecting it to, or it actually was , due to the differences in the BRP oil and the RP. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I and some other SL members have noted smoother shifting after switching to Mobil 1 4T Racing 10W-40. Don't know if it's placebo effect of shifting at a bit higher RPM also.

oil change

some time back there was a post on here about some one who had over 100k on his spyder.he said he had used brp oil since day one so i think brp oil is good enough for me.it seems like i bought a new bike every time i have my bike serviced.new oil makes it run like new.

:agree: They aren't going to market an oil that might cause them to have to replace a lot of expensive engines under warranty... nojoke
