• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Receiving a new 2016 f3s/s today. Anxious to try it out, I never tested one. I was holding out for a turbo version, but can't wait another year with my fingers crossed. Depending on if I enjoy it, I'm thinking about a drag bar and a chopped rear fender.

Good choice....

The not waiting...cause your missing out on a lot of fun and enjoyment. Don't think the turbo will make that much difference in your ryding unless you can find competitive spyder ryding..:dontknow: but you can get a big sticker with "Turbo" on it...:roflblack: Don't see them making it for some time at least until they see the effects of the relaxed nanny pan out. Congrats on the new ryde..:2thumbs: getting to know her is half the fun of the spyder experience...enjoy..

RE: Turbo's

Can't imagine many folks would actually be happy owning turbo versions even if BRP offered one. History repeats itself: Turbos were never very popular in the sport bike arena. You almost couldn't give them away (from what I remember), and for good reason IMO: Power was "peaky" and difficult to manage unless the turbo was so "de-tuned" / suppressed (by design/implementation.) Hence the power it generated was almost non-existent. Not to mention that a turbo needs to be driven at high RPM's to build exhaust pressure. And I highly doubt they were anywhere near as durable as a naturally aspirated engine, at least in the long run.

Besides, why do people prefer the 1330 triple? I suspect it's because the driver doesn't need high RPM's to get torque/power!

First ride thoughts. It is a blast to drive, no doubt about it. I thought with my experience snowmobiling, snowmobile and car drag racing, as well as having nearly zero motorcycle experience would allow me to hop right on and do what ever, I was wrong, it is unique and there is learning curve. Its a new kind of fun that fills a gap between several motorsports.

With no motorcycle experience I'm loving the ES. Love the all black look of the bike also, as well as the suspension that is smooth and gives good feedback. There is nothing I dont like about it really.

As far as the turbo, todays technology allows the boost to be adjusted and regulated for conditions. Computers control the spool, fuel, timing, to give the driver the extra experience they desire. Is it for everyone? No, just like a full decked out 2 up cruiser is not for everyone. BRP has backed off the ultimate horsepower wars in the sledding market, by not including turbos or superchargers. We raced 1000 cc Mach z's on no2 and dominated, then the 4 stroke market took over and turbos became vastly superior for many reasons. Am I not going to enjoy the spyder because it is not the fastest thing on the road? No. Its fun and practical and does pull hard while in its powerband. The machine is what it is and its excellent as it is.

Possibly showing my age lol. But my previous "ride" was a GSXR-1100. (Well, also a GSXR-750/demo. and on snow a ZR600-EFI snowmobile.) That being said: Without a turbo, I'm 99.8% content on my F3-S D500 (SE)! Loads of torque, and (stock) mine handles like she's on rails. <grin>
