• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another Newbie Question

another newbie question

The Spyder on my '14 RT L showed 103, GPS showed 98.
Basically as previously stated, the faster you drive, the farther off it is.
Lightnin' LeeRoy only has 4K on, so that is all I've given her her so far.
More to follow come May or June

THEY MAY HELP YOU OUT

I know this has been discussed before, but I cant find the specific answer I am looking for. I have seen posts mentioning the difference in the speed in MPH showing on the speedometer, versus the actual speed the Spyder is going. What is the difference in MPH, and is it faster or slower? I have a 2012 RT SM5.
....................Contact your local Law Enforcement Agency ( in person is better ) and ask them where and when they will have a Stationary Radar set -up. Almost every agency has one ......Then just drive by it and check it yourself.....................My 2014 RT reads 1 mph fast at 30.........2 mph at 60 etc.

My spedo

must really be off. :dontknow: Where ever I go I drive the posted speed limit or 5 over and where ever I am there always seems to be somebody on my a$$ wanting to go faster or trying to pass on a double line. :gaah: :banghead:

A couple of years back; I had a... "friendly" LEO with a gun let me make a... pass :D by him on a real nice straightaway.
The 2010 RT speedometer read 101, and his gun said 97: close enough for me! ;)

I'm with you

Good advice, and this may sound stupid, but I dont use GPS. Got it on my phone but I usually know where im going, and if im not sure, Im pretty good at figuring it out pretty quickly. Guess I will have to get it out and use it. As usual, thanks for the help.
Never use GPS...have one, but it is always packed away. Once in awhile if in a new area and desperate for coffee...will ask my smartphone to get me there QUICK..:yikes:. I consider every trip I take an adventure and I realllllly don't like freeways...not issue driving them...but I want to see the real America and IMHO that ain't freeways. Yep I travel at least 20k a year without GPS..and :yes:

Wife still jealous of SpYder I see....:shemademe_smilie:

2 mph above actual isn't a bad thing, might keep Johnny Law off your butt !

On the Fat White Chick, the difference varies with speed. 35 mph or less, very little difference. At 60 and above the speedo reads 2 mph or so higher than the GPS.

As said before, too many variables to make any difference. Go ride and stay safe.
