• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another New Helmet

I keep adding to my collection-----

About a month ago I go a Scorpion EXO-1000 that I really like, but now it's starting to get warmer out and I wanted to try something different - so I ordered a Scorpion EXO-100, which is a half-helmet.

I've never worn anything but a full face, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but this helmet also has the built-in retractable tinted sun visor similar to the EXO-1000.

This helmet is just GREAT. Feels as close to being without a helmet as I've ever felt - and it's DOT approved. Sun visor works great to keep wind out of eyes (with CHAD).

For $110 you can't go too wrong with this - going to be using it during the hot months for sure!

Here's a stock photo of it - people tell me I look like a CHP cop--- :D

I wear this one.......

I wear the same style but it's just plain black.

You know, I never thought I would wear anything but a full face, but man I am considering a half or 3/4 for the summer months. I am already getting hot in my helmet and it hasn't gotten that hot yet, just humid. I really like the sunscreen that comes down in that Scorpion 100 Firefly. That is a big concern of mine, stuff hitting me in the eyes and face. I have had some pretty big bugs and debris hit my face shield and it can pack a wallop.

Yup- and getting something like a bug in the eye could be really bad. I even rode in the rain today - light rain - and it wasn't too bad.

As far as bugs and other items, since I have the CHAD it's not much of a concern - can't say that I had any bugs hit the helmet visor at all - only had to wipe some rain off.

I was originally concerned about the top not having ventilation - but that is no longer a concern - so much nice smooth air on the rest of my face and neck that I was nice and cool!

I tug my full face along in the topcase in case it rains or I requrie it for a passenger.

Really, really happy with this helmet!

I just spent some time on line looking at 1/2 and 3/4 helmets. There are some decent ones out there for around $100 or so. I may have to make a trip tomorrow to our local shop and try some on and get a feel for them. It would be nice to have something besides full face for this trip. We will see. Thanks for you input.

I just got done reading the reviews on this Scorpion Exo-100 and they are quite good. This helmet even has ear pockets already for my headset, now I just have to figure out how I would mount my microphone as I don't have a boom mic or time to get one before the trip. hmmm. Oh well, chances are I won't be getting another helmet right now, but one can dream.

I wonder what changed between 1:30 am, when you posted this, and 8 am when you told me "we are going to Rockies today so I can buy a new helmet." :dontknow:

Dude - if she didn't change her mind every 1/2 hour she wouldn't be doing her part as a woman! :D:2thumbs:

Dude, we went to the store and I had my helmet looked at, tried on and picked out in 20 minutes. For the next hour, the sales girl and I watched Brian "shop" and try on a helmet for himself, didn't know he was even going to buy one.:2thumbs:
