• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Another Limp Mode Story ...

Last Sunday I went on a little :spyder2: ryde. I got a few miles from home and see up again a shiny black and chrome ... are you ready ... Harley parked along the road. The guy was atanding next to it and the girl was sitting next to the road with a sour sorta expression. I pull in and ask if they needed some help. I had no idea how, but it seemed the neighborly thing to do. Anyway, he tells me the dash lit up and it just died. He hits the ignition and it starts, but it was running ... kinda poorly. He shuts it off and tells me the dash said "limp mode."

I said I'd only experienced it once (while at SF#3) and I suggested he take the key out, walk away and wait a few minutes. He asked his GF to take a little hike and oh, the look on her face. But, she did it. He put the key in, hit the ignition and blast off! Ran and sounded like a Harley to me. He said the "limp" was gone. He then told me he knew of a number of Harley's having similar issues. :dontknow: But, he thanked me profusely and off they rode. Hope it worked long term. After thought = wonder if he'll tell all his Harley friends how a :spyder2: guy got him going again. Or I guess I did. It worked. :doorag:

Nice save! He may not tell his buddies, but he'll remember it and maybe do somebody else a favor along the road... :2thumbs:

I did not know H-D had a limp mode function. Are you funning us or is it real?

Great story. I had a similar thing happen to me last summer. Riding with a group. One other :spyder2:. They had just bought it and were not sure what to do. I suggested remove the key, walk away, and re-start. No more problems the rest of the night. That is part of the limited things I know about :spyder2: fixes--but it worked.

Should have taken the GF for a ride on your :spyder2: so she could have begun smiling. That may have converted him from an HD to a :spyder2:!

No funnin ya, for real, that's what the guy said to me. I just googled "do Harley's have a limp mode" and got page after page of horror stories. :yikes:

Gee, change the names and products to protect the guilty and for an instant I thought I was reading the SL forum. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
