The Joe Rocket Nova 2.0 is a multi-season textile jacket with some very nice climate control features and it's waterproof too. The climate control features found in this jacket are a little different than most, but seem as though they would be quite effective. This jacket has a three part closure system that effectively allows the rider to regulate the venting/waterproofing. Below the main zipper is a mesh closure system.The idea is that you can turn the solid textile jacket into a highly ventilated jacket simply by unzipping the main zipper and exposing the mesh closure underneath. Beneath the mesh closure is an overlapping waterproof closure (you would have this open and tucked back inside the jacket when using the mesh closure for venting). In the rear of the jacket there are two large zippered exhaust vents to help eliminate the "balloon effect" caused by the air coming into the jacket from the front. For protection this jacket comes with removable CE approved shoulder and elbow armor and a removable back pad. There are some side straps along with sleeve and wrist adjustments allowing you to fine-tune the fit and keep the armor securely in place. Due to its versatility, I can see this jacket being a hit with touring riders.
