There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Another Helmet Question

I have less than 45% of my hearing left. I recently started wearing the latest technology hearing aids. I'm haven't found a comfortable modular or 3/4 helmet that accommodates hearing aids and prescription glasses. My half helmet with the neck/ear gator is the only helmet I can comfortably wear. Has anyone found a helmet that works for them wearing hearing aids and glasses?

I wear sunglasses all the time as I wear contact lens. I have found that the Shoei brand of helmets have eyeglass pockets in them.
The helmets are expensive but the comfort is well worth the money to me.
For your hearing aids Shoei helmets have recessed speaker pockets in them for headset speakers so maybe the pockets will give you room for your hearing aids.

Here is the link for Shoei USA. I have spoken to Shoei Canada Reps at bike shows and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. My Shoei helmets that I currently wear are : RJ Platiunum R 3/4 helmet and Quest full face helmet

I have a Shoei Neotec that is really comfortable. Unfortunately I choose not to wear my behind the ear hearing aids with the helmet because although they fit and can the helmet can also accommodate sunglasses, when I remove the helmet there is a high risk of it pulling one or two aids out of my ear(s). I also choose to wear ear plugs despite the hearing loss to protect what I have left. I carry the aids in a case in the glove box for use when off the bike. My loss is so bad I can hear my SMH10 out of only one ear anyway and I've lived with it so long it's not a big deal to me. Putting the aids on or taking them off is just a part of the riding routine for me. YMMV.

I am deaf and wear the most tech advanced hearing aid on the market due to my severe hearing loss. I wear a Shoei full face and have no problems wearing sunglasses or my hearing aid. No whistling either from the hearing aid when I wear my helmet. I also have the Sena 20s and I sync my iPhone and hear the music in my helmet. Love it!!!

I have had a Shoei GT Air and wore my glasses, never tried with my hearing aids for fear of pulling one out when removing the helmet. Now I have a Schuberth C3 and it is even more comfortable, I have their SRC comm system. Both the Shoei and the Shuberth have a internal dark viser so you don't need sunglasses, the Shuberth comes down further and does a better job IMHO. Both about the same price. Check out the Revzilla.com reviews. I get my hearing aids from the VA, I think they are latest and greatest. They are bluetooth and all good stuff. Let me know if I can be of assistance!

Schuberth C3 Pro. Hated it at first but gets easy on and off and seams to fourm to head, love it now.
They are the best in most catagories.
1 lightest moduler
2. Most air flow through and stay cool interior materials
3. Quitest helmet on market.
BMW dealers only place I know of to try one.

I just picked up a discontinued Shoei RF-1100, which has huge ear pockets. If you search around you can still find them for about 50% off retail.

It also has the eyeglass pockets.

shampa

I always wear a skull cap/shampa nice lightweight washable cap that covers my ears.
the main reason that i wear it is because the speaker pockets in my helmet are not quite deep enough for my Scala rider speakers so when I put my helmet on or take it off the cap protects my ears from scraping on the speakers this skull cap may work in the same manner for your hearing aids? might be worth a try before plunking down your hard earned cash on a new helmet.

Curious what kinds of hearing aids do you use??

I HEAR YA

I HEAR YA PAL.....
what i've done to about 6 of my helmets, is to
DIG OUT some of the styrofoam on each side, by where my ears are located to allow for my glasses and hearing thingee are unencumbered and don't press up against my ears/head, which gets very sore after a while....
not a big deal in doing this... just unsnap the inside pieces of your helmet, and with a very sharp (EXACTO) knife, cut out that which is the cause of your problem...
good luck, and let us know the end results...

great idea Dan I have been told that the Shoei dealers Rep will dig out some of the foam to customize to your head so why not do a little careful carving yourself.

My bud has hering aide & hikes the size ear pocket in HJC. Was able to fit headphone speaker inside too fyi. Ill try to get more info

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have the Seimans with the receiver in the ear hearing aids. They are bluetooth. After 25 years of basically reading lips, these hearing aids has made a huge difference in my life. With the noise reduction technology, it filters out much of the wind noise when riding. I'm now able to hear the motor sounds of the quiet Sypdee.

I have tried on the Shoei Quest and Neotec helmets and they fit very comfortably with the hearing aids and glasses. I also tried the Bell Magna-9 3/4 helmet which I like. I use the Sena SMH-10 headset.

I presently have the Nolan N-90 modular. I think I will do what some have suggested and to dig out some of the foam around the ear section.

To anyone who has severe hearing loss, don't wait any longer. Today's technology of hearing aids is awesome. I will never have 100% hearing, but what I can hear now is unbelievable. The only problem with my hearing aids, is it doesn't come with a "Wife off Button" :D

Here's what you do..!!

go to the biggest bike shop around and do your own research. You will find one and then you can find the best deal be it online factory direct or at the shop. Revzilla does good on helmets. That being said I use HJC wear glasses all the time and there is ample room around the ears. Don't get a larger helmet to accomodate your equipment rather trim the padding to make room...

:agree:
Although you can also take a spoon, and use it to "press-in" the Styrofoam in the places where you need more room as well...
("Dig Out", just sounds so extreme! ;))

Born with a 40% hearing loss so always had hearing aids but never normally bothered wearing them on a motorbike, after all most people put in earplugs when riding to cut down the noise.

Sometimes I forget to take them out before I start riding, in the past this has meant I've stopped a couple of miles down the road to take them out because the wind noise etc has been annoying. However I've found the Shoei GT-Air to be a really quiet helmet and is acoustically well suited for hearing aids, ridden a few times with them in without any issues. In fact I'd almost say the GT-Air is too quite for me without hearing aids as I found I sometimes forgot to change back up after an overtake when I first started wearing it (fitting JT's Air filter sorted that problem:-))

Don't have glasses but have ridden with sunnies with the GT-Air, even though it has a build in sun visor, and not had any issues.
